The order banks for the 2027 Chevrolet Traverse are set to open on June 18th, and while the rumor mill has been buzzing about a couple of new exterior paint options, the actual GM order book reveals a much bigger story.
We got our hands on the official 2027 Traverse changes, and it turns out Chevrolet is bringing a brand-new technology feature to the cabin and completely shaking up the standard wheel offerings across the High Country, RS, and Z71 trims.
Here is the complete breakdown of what is actually changing for the fourth year of the third-generation Traverse.
The Big Tech Addition: An Interior Security Camera
While other outlets focused solely on the exterior, the most interesting addition for 2027 is hidden inside the cabin. The Traverse is officially getting a new Interior Camera (RPO Code UCV).
Forget the standard “baby cam” setup you might see in other family haulers. GM’s new interior camera is actually a major security and surveillance upgrade. It integrates directly into the Traverse’s surround-view camera system and works seamlessly with a built-in recorder. Even better, it allows you to live-stream the inside of your vehicle directly to your mobile phone via the OnStar app. Whether you are checking in on the crossover while it’s parked or just want the peace of mind of a built-in cabin dashcam, this is a massive tech leap coming to a handful of GM vehicles this model year.

A Massive Wheel Lineup Shakeup
If you are ordering a 2027 Traverse, pay close attention to your build sheet. Chevrolet has completely purged five different wheel codes from the 2026 lineup and replaced them with new standard and available options across almost every trim.
Here is what you will be rolling on for 2027:
- Z71: Now comes standard with 18-inch High Gloss Black painted, machined-face aluminum wheels (RT4). (If you are curious how the Z71 handles the messy stuff on its factory 18-inch rubber, check out our brutal Chevy Traverse Z71 Mud Season Review).
- High Country: Now features 22-inch High Gloss Black machined-face aluminum wheels as standard equipment (RRO).
- RS: Upgraded to standard 22-inch High Gloss Black painted aluminum wheels (RRG).
- LT: Can be optioned with new 20-inch Carbon Flash Metallic machined-face aluminum wheels (RTG) when selecting the Sun and Wheel Package. Alternatively, the Midnight/Sport Edition brings new 20-inch High Gloss Black painted aluminum wheels (SN6).

The Paint Swap: Two In, Two Out
As is customary, GM is keeping the exterior palette fresh by dropping two older colors and introducing two new ones.
Say goodbye to Stardust Metallic (GXK) and Lakeshore Blue Metallic (GXP). Taking their place at no extra charge are:
- Twilight Blue (G46): A darker, richer blue replacing the lighter Lakeshore.
- Trillium Green Metallic (GTM): A new earthy green tone stepping in for the purple-hued Stardust.

2027 Traverse Production Timeline
Under the hood, the Traverse remains unchanged. It will continue to utilize the turbocharged 2.5L I4 (LK0) producing a very healthy 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, paired with GM’s eight-speed automatic transmission.
As we originally noted during our first drive of the third-generation Traverse, this engine setup delivers a nearly perfect power-to-weight ratio and gives the crossover a truly confident, truck-like persona that is perfect for merging onto highways or hauling the family.
If you are looking to secure one of these updated family haulers, order banks are currently scheduled to open on June 18th, 2026. Production at the GM Lansing Delta Township Assembly plant will fire up shortly after on July 20th, 2026, though as always, these target dates are subject to slight shifts based on supply chain realities.
