Bowtie, 2014 Silverado, Plastidip

I masked off the outer edge of the chrome bowtie and covered the hood, grill, bumper area. Temperature was about 60 deg F, I used four very light coats of Plastidip spray about 30 minutes apart. I carefully removed all masking, then carefully peeled the overspray off the chrome bowtie outline, leaving just the red inner bowtie. Used an exacto knife to score any areas that may not have separated easily.

Overall it was very easy to do for less than $12 can of spray. Plastidip seems to be available in a variety of colors, and luckily the red matched the Chevrolet Victory Red paint perfectly. If it hadn't, I would have sprayed it black.

There are several You Tube videos that do a great job guiding you through the process. I probably wouldn't have tried it if I hadn't watched one and seen how easy it was to do. The good thing about Plastidip is if you're not happy with the way it turns out, you can peel it off after it dries.
