  1. Great question. I think finding a common one makes sense. Having said that, based on my experience, I found both problematic if the root cause is the rear end: My first repurchased 2015 Denali had GU6, rear axle, 3.42 ratio My second repurchased 2015i Denali had GU5, rear axle, 3.23
  2. Cleanfreak: Thanks for the update! Sorry for your additional troubles with the truck...spending this kind of money we want perfection--and we should continue to demand it. Hope you get these other issues worked out. Back to the buffeting/pressure for a moment. Can you confirm the pressure sensation was gone at 42-43 mph with the new rear end? I know the truck now vibrates, but is it vibrating completely without the pressure and droning at the troublesome speeds? I think you are getting very close to a solution. Stay the course. I agree with Spinningwheel too. Keep being nice and patient...that's the only reason I believe they bought both of my lemons back at full purchase price.
  3. OK, now we are on to something! Thanks for the update, Cleanfreak! Like Zip said, this is the first time something was actually replaced and it fixed the problem. Let's hope it is indeed a permanent fix. Please, please, keep us posted with your results. You can help so many people with this issue by keeping us posted. No pressure, man. I am most interested if the issue is gone at 42-43 mph. That is the speed most can pinpoint the problem without hesitation. Those were the speeds which both of my repurchased Denalis had the problem. If you decelerate at that speed range and the issue is gone, I think you will have solved the curse of the headaches, ear pressure, and buffeting. Please let me/us know your results at those speeds. Thanks again for being a team player!
  4. You make me feel better that I am not the only one to give GM a second chance after such an awful first experience. I hope this one works great for you. I noticed the pressure and headaches around 250 miles with my second one...hope you are on the road to happiness with this one and it stays perfect. Please keep us posted.
  5. Great update! Sounds like they are getting somewhere...slowly but surely. Hopefully you get a resolution. Please keep us updated. I am interested to know if the folks in Arlington about to build the 2016s in a few weeks know about this...or care? Those of us following this thread from the beginning used to see GM reps chime in from time to time. They have gone completely quiet...Unlike the buffeting in some the 2015s.
  6. Good call. They tested that on my first one...everything came back normal with the flaps. That was one of the first things they tried. It was determined not to be the cause of the pressure.
  7. @TOBTEK: Q80 Limited is my next new ride. I test drove one for a day. It was nice. Like you, the appearance of the 2015 GMC's are just great. It took me a while for the Infiniti to grow on me too. Take one for a ride...you can't help but like it. Especially if the dealer has a Limited.
  8. Just sent you a PM with her contact info. The one who handled mine, anyway.
  9. On a side note, to continue to see people (more new ones too) have this problem still is unbelievable to me. They are still mass producing garbage. Acting like they (dealers) know nothing about it is just plain deceitful. Do business with them again?! I will never buy another GM vehicle again. Ever.
  10. Dadof4: Go to a physician...document your headaches. Your wife too. Miss a few days from work. Take them down the path you intend to go. Their story will change. They know if you can spend $73k for a truck, you can afford a good attorney. There is a regional customer service person which actually handles buybacks. The exact title is "District Manager, Aftersales." Your dealer gets the approval from this person. Your dealer has a say, not the entire say so in the matter. I would seek out this person immediately. As a reminder, I had TWO GM buybacks. The dealer was told what to do by the District Manager. They knew which direction I was going to go if I did not get my satisfactory resolution. I received full payment on both buybacks. Stay firm and demand the contact info of the DM. Go behind the dealer's back to have the decision made for him. To all those having the issue: there is NO solution! My statement above is the answer for the short-term. I was 2 for 2 in buybacks for this poorly designed vehicle. This method, aka, the TRUTH, works. Walk loudly and carry a very big stick. Let them know it's going to hurt.
  11. Thank you! Had to make the change considering the 2015 Denali is gone... I know you are on to something with the shocks. They sent out new shocks directly from the proving grounds on my first repurchased Denali. It did not solve the problem with the ear pressure and buffeting, but the field engineer thought that could have been the issue. In any event, I am intrigued by the exhaust fix...Let's hope it helps someone out there.
  12. Keep us posted on the "exhaust fix"...first I have heard of that one. Please be sure to share the results others on this site. Many are desperate for a solution. Hope it works for you!

  14. Don't waste any more of your time (and value of the buyback). Get your money back ASAP! There is NO fix and no one can tell you why one is "good" and others are "bad." There is a quality control issue somewhere down the line and GM has not figured it out. Get your money back...the headaches (literal and figurative) are not worth it.
  15. There is no GM fix. Period. Do NOT take delivery. You will regret it.
  16. Get your money back! How can they possibly give a good deal on your trade when they know it has a major problem?! They will not be able to resell it at a higher cost, thus sticking it to you for less on your 2015. Read my advice I posted above. I have been there, done that. Don't waste another minute and get the claim number for repurchase. A trade will not be favorable. Further, what kind of dealership would knowingly resell a bad vehicle? I would not want to do business with them anyway. Get your money back and let the dealer deal with the problem. Without having cash in hand, you have no leverage on getting a "deal" on a different vehicle. In my opinion, anyway...
  17. I know the roadmap to repurchase all too well. Contact GMC customer service. Ask to get a claim number. More than likely, they have been monitoring this site and have already issued you one without you knowing. I was surprised when they told me they had a claim number BEFORE I called them. The claim number gets the ball rolling. From there, they may or may not send a field engineer out to your dealership considering your dealer has acknowledged the problem and "there's nothing they can do." My first repurchase required a long, drawn out process (6 weeks of rental car) in which they had to try so many different things to verify the issues were legit and the field engineer basically gave the go ahead for buyback. My second one, was very simple. The master tech said there was a ear pressure problem and they didn't waste any time getting the repurchase going. Once it's established you have a buyback situation, you will be contacted by the repurchase department out of Saginaw, MI. They will send you a settlement offer in which you have a few days to sign and accept. You will be repaid less rebates and incentives and sales tax. Depending on the condition of your truck, it can be less than full purchase price. I received full purchase price less sales taxes on both of my 2015 Denalis. Keep your cool and try to lose it. I know you're upset...I am still pissed. Just remember, none of the folks you will be dealing with from here on out built or designed your lemon truck. No sense lashing out at them...I think that's why my repayments were completed smoothly and relatively quickly. Being nice will only help get your money back sooner. Oh, do not commit to buy another vehicle from your dealer until you have your money back! See how he/she helps you get through this one. If they are helpful, reward with another chance. If not, buy something else. My dealer was exceptionally rude at the end of the buyback...I bought another truck out of state because of him. He blew it at the end...yours could too. Wait until cash is in hand. Keep us posted!
  18. Don't wait. Get your money back ASAP. Get a claim number from GMC customer service to get the ball rolling. There is NO fix for the ear pressure sanctioned by GM. All they will do is rip apart your truck and hand it back to you in worse condition than you received it...with the ear pressure problem still persisting. Trust me, I have been down this road...twice. Just get your money back.
  19. Hey All, I have chronicled the ear pressure issues at length. The GPS stopped working a week ago and yesterday the truck started vibrating so bad when I shifted into "4 High" because of the snowy conditions. I had to pull over because the truck was shaking so bad. It has 1600 miles. This is the truck I want. But at some point, I have to come to terms this is just a bad truck. Anyone else having as many problems in addition to the pressure? I'm so disappointed...this was the truck I wanted as soon as I saw the concept of it.
  20. Yes! I agree there is a variable in the vehicle that is causing some sort of "trigger" to the buffeting. My current Denali (1st was repurchased due to the problem you describe) was perfect for the first 250 miles or so. I know the sound and I know the feel. It was not there when I first got the vehicle...I would not have accepted delivery if it was present. Now, 1200 miles in, it is back with a vengeance just like my first one. Starting at the same exact speed as my first one...38mph. Coincidence? I doubt it. Is it the frame? It really is the only true common denominator between the Tahoe, Yukon, and Escalade. While some have more features than others, or different sized tires, the frame is the same for all. Is it too rigid, then "breaks in" causing it, or the other way around? I don't know, I am not a car guy. I just play a very pissed customer on TV... Either way, don't waste your time getting the roof repaired. It will make the same sound after the "repair." The only difference will be the greasy finger prints left all over your interior liner. Trust me, I know.
  21. Hey Sub, your truck had the issue without roof racks? You had roof racks installed and it went away? Is that accurate? I am getting desperate for a solution before I start a buy back again. I really want to love this truck...
  22. You are right on the money with that assessment. One givith, one taketh away sort of speak.
  23. That's correct. Loud after installing plugs in mics.
  24. I agree, they probably do think we are buffoons or idiots. I certainly am. I bought the same vehicle twice in hopes they solved the issue from the initial launch. I am loyal to a fault, I suppose... It seemed like the plugs did work with the pressure initially...perhaps until the one became loose. Having said that, the noise from the transmission was exceptionally loud. It was embarrassingly loud. I took a client out to lunch and he walked away saying it was the loudest vehicle he has ever been in. I am just not going to compromise comfort any longer with this vehicle. For $80 grand, I can drive countless other luxury-type vehicles without compromising anything. I will ask about the rear end tomorrow...I have no idea what that means, but I will ask. I certainly appreciate the suggestions. Sadly, we have to come to a forum full of people willing to come up with a solution and are trying new things. You guys are awesome! The people who made this flawed product are nowhere to be found on this thread anymore. Their lack of responses to our posts shows them as complicit to hiding something...the truth.
