Just used a regular ole utility knife like this https://www.homedepot.com/p/Stanley-Quick-Change-Retractable-Knife-2-Pack-STHT10274/205074559. Held it in my hand and slowly trimmed off the plastic. It then plugged right in. My iPhone X and 8 work great. Get the same charge as my desk pad charger. Verified through the Amperes battery app

This is exactly what I ended up doing. Took less than 5 mins and works flawlessly

I just tested mine and it charges slight faster then the bezalel charging mat

I was able to swap out the module. I just trimmed the original plug with a knife. Phone charges and lights on on the dash. My only question is has anyone successfully ordered the 10 rib mat? I have a 2016 Tahoe with the 9 rib and the x is slightly longer than the space so it doesn't lay totally flat, but seems to still charge. If someone has a part # or has been successful in getting the new mat, that would be awesome. I would also consider ordering the silver Denali trim. Thanks

I think we need to complain to GM. I purchased a $70k vehicle that was advertised with wireless charging. The more of us that complain to GM, we might get them to do something about it. The car was advertised in supporting Qi and it doesn't, not fully until 2018. That's on them. Even if we can only get them to cover half the costs of swapping out a lid for the 2018 that would save us a few hundred $$.
