  1. Any one know how these trucks ride using the reverse hangers not sure if I want to cut mine off
  2. Plus I didn’t c notch so at 7 inches would be bottoming out a lot until can get air bags that will by a while
  3. Ya I like the rear to have slight rake or level just don’t like when front is higher and these trucks can look high in front when level
  4. I definitely think helped bags would help a ton just having over half tank of gas effects mine. I guess I was always lucky in past never had a issue with lowered trucks until this one hopefully I don’t just have a shitty kit If I had a way to raise the rear 3/4 to a inch it would help
  5. What is the wheel centric guides and the gm recall shims you asked about
  6. So you have yours shortened
  7. Anyone running the ihc drop kits from Inez hot rods if so do you have any issues with kit
  8. Can’t find anyplace that shaft is rubbing plus that would make noise all the time not just coasting after truck is warmed up I have plenty of room at yoke in transmission the one thing I haven’t checked yet is the tranny shaft Inside of the yoke I know the vibration thing can be some trial and error I’ve been working on that now
  9. What brand kit are you running?
  10. So does yours mostly do it on highway when coasting? Mine I can make do it by speeding up a little and letting off the gas doesn’t last very long it also may be better when colder outside and also seems worse with full tank of gas so more weight must effect it. It does do better with transmission shimmed up. I’m going to take all shims out and see if it helps my vibrations. Thanks for letting me know that so far your the first I’ve heard of it
  11. So the reason I went to five is I was only getting 3 inches or less drop with the 4 inch so when I set it to the 5 inch was more like four inches if that makes sense I have inch to inch and half play in drive shaft but that’s the yoke going into transmission but what I’m not sure on is how much room I have inside the yoke where the shaft from transmission goes inside how much are you lowered
  12. Yes it’s for 4wd they say if not going more than 4 inches in front it won’t be a problem with anything I have my doubts at least as far as premature wear on stuff right 4wd seems just fine but it’s still early I originally planned on having to do. 3/5 until I found the Inez kit I’m not crazy about the angle of my cv axles. I also noticed another company doing a 4/6 on 4wd and they showed a video of cv axle still being straight
  13. There isn’t a tone of info on Inez kits but the stuff I did find was all good they told me they haven’t had any issues like mine on this generation of truck and suggested raising transmission. I have used chassis ears on it and sounds like noise is in tailshaft just not sure if it’s more due to pinion angle or transmission angle or driveshaft length or maybe all three this is my yoke with truck on the ground
  14. so I’m using Inez 4/6-5/7 flip kit and control arms I initially set up as 4/6 drop but on my truck the front only dropped like 3” and looked like rear was lower so I removed spacer in front for 5 inch drop now it looks better to my taste Stock block not used truck is 17 crew cab 4 wd I know it’ would be better on 2wd. The main issue at first was on highway when like coasting I would get like a grinding noise just for few seconds if you hit brakes or gas the noise stops however when I shimmed the transmission up it helped was quieter but not gone it looks like I have enough room for drive shaft but hard to know for sure. This kit definitely pushes rear axle back around a inch to help with driveshaft length and I think shimming to help noise may be causing worse vibrations I’m hoping doing axle 4 degrees fixes it been driving it for couple months or so as it’s all I have
  15. thanks I am planning to try 4 degrees down on axle this weekend the part that was confusing me is after my axle is maybe little negative down then I I won’t have opposite angles since transmission is down and not enough room to make it have upward angle and everything I read says you want opposite angles between the two and I’ll have tranny down and axle down a little
  16. I was thinking most people needed to shim the rear axle down to get correct angle but since my tranny is around five degrees down and axle is 2 degrees up I may need to shim my axle up more to get closer to 5 degrees up to match the front just feels wrong cause thought guys usually set rear pinion down a little to have a good angle when under load but if I shim mine down the rear would be down just like the transmission
  17. Makes sense thanks my tailshaft is 5.1 down and axle is 2.3 up that’s with 3/8 shim under tranny and no shims in rear end
  18. I can push the drive shaft forward about an inch and half wilth suspension loaded so seems ok I will admit the sound it makes sounds like maybe if it bottomed out against the bearing It also seems little worse when warmer outside we have crazy weather so one day it’s 20 degrees next day it’s 40-50. Raising the tranny definitely helped so that also makes me think it’s in the angles I have a 4 degree shim for axle ordered them I will see what effect that has
  19. Makes sense thanks my tailshaft is 5.1 down and axle is 2.3 up that’s with 3/8 shim under tranny and no shims in rear end
  20. Makes sense thanks my tailshaft is 5.1 down and axle is 2.3 up that’s with 3/8 shim under tranny and no shims in rear end
  21. I’m not sure exactly what axle wrap is I’ve heard of it
  22. I also used chassis ears and seems noise is at tailshaft area just don’t know exactly why other than maybe drive line angles
  23. Thanks I wish that was that was the case but seem to have plenty of room everywhere pretty sure my drive angles are off just weird I haven’t found anything about this issue. I’ve been checking everything with suspension loaded I think driveshaft clearance issues is usually after 8 inches and more
  24. So never did a forum before so hopefully not starting it wrong. I’m looking for some thoughts on issue I’m having with my 2017 Silverado z71 crew cab after 4/6 drop issue is a grinding like noise only on highway maybe 60 mph and up just when coasting it doesn’t last long and seems to take about 10 minutes or so to start doing it. I raised tranny mount 3/8 inch and helped but still not completely right plus think it’s creating vibration is situate was t there without the shim. I know there’s lots of info on driveline angle issues on lowered and lifted trucks but seems it’s all on vibrations and not a noise like I have I’m currently trying to measure my angles to see what I have. I seem to have plenty of room for yoke in tailshaft so not sure it’s botttoming out. Thanks for any help
