Looks like i have an aftermarket review mirror camera on my 2011 sierra 1500 SLE ext 4x4. roughly 6 months ago the camera stopped working, the screen will flash on for 1 second then disappear and the green blinking light will begin on my mirror indicating problem with the camera. I was checking the wire lines and found some splice spots for the camera, i have no knowledge of these camera splice kits and was wondering if they are something that need replaced, maybe have a loose wire or something? Does anyone have knowledge on identifying failed cameras. I find it odd that it will give me a 1 second view of the backup camera then it fuzzes out. I checked fuses and all look good.   2. My truck is a 2011 SLE 5.3l Ext Cab 6'6" bed with trailer tow package with 105k miles. When i purchased it at 70k miles it already had a 3" lift. I am prepping to travel to North Dakota from Pennsylvania and will be towing a 5x8 enclosed trailer filled with waterfowl decoys and hunting gear. I will have 3 guys in the truck along with a dog so it will be a long ride. I have done most of the 100k mile maintenance such as tranny fluid and filter, new front and rear diff oil, new coolant, new spark plugs and wires, new belt, new air filter and some other minor things. I was hoping to get information on any other engine parts that would be recommended to change, along with suspension. The 3" is just a body lift and i know that can cause increased strain on the suspension parts. I have already had to replace Upper control arms (looked like oem) and replaced with an upgraded version meant for 3" lift. I was debating replacing front hubs, tie rods, and rear shocks and was wondering if i should go with OEM or look for better stuff. This is my daily driver and soon to be just work truck as i look for a car to save the truck.
  3. I have a 2011 sierra 1500 SLE with the backup camera built into the rearview mirror. Randomly one day it decided to stop working. When i put it into reverse the mirror camera will flicker once then shut off. The mirror green indicator light will then blink on and off reporting no camera signal. Has anyone had this occur or something similar? Possibly a bad camera? I Checked my fuses and all looked good. my reverse lights work. i checked the harness where the wires from the camera connect to the wires to the rest of the truck and that looked good. Any other suggestions? Thank You
  4. P0463 Fuel level Sensor. Its odd because sometimes it jumps up to normal level, then falls back down. Itll slowly go up over the drive then just drop. It will give me the Low Fuel level warning, then clear itself without needing me to hit the DIC. It will clear the CEL itself after driving after refilling.
  5. That's what i am thinking. I also noticed that when its the tank is full but its showing empty. The Gas tank light will be on (showing empty) and the flick off while still showing empty. Does the float cause CEL light to engage? I read about Sensors and grounds being the main cause. Did you fix the float? Was it hard?
  6. i have a 2011 sierra 1500 z71 ext cab. I had once noticed my fuel gauge go empty then was acting odd and ran a cleaner with next fill up and the problem went away. Now about 5-6 months later it happened again. The gauge goes from normal to empty. then will slowly come back up, or will jump back up, then can read correctly, then falls back to empty. The gauge reading empty will put CEL on. The gauge will work again while CEL is on, then it will go down, slowly come up etc... Each time i have filled up since it started recently, it was either at empty or had been going back and fourth. first fill up of 10 gallons and it seemed to be working again normally. CEL light went off, and gauge read fine. 2 days later its acting up. CEL comes back on. I fill up again, and all is normal. Now again few days later and CEL comes out. gauge works sometimes and will move extremely slow back to the correct spot. I havent gotten under to do diagnostics but i wasnt sure if anyone knew if it was a problem with a float device, or ground wire, sensor? I have researched and i would imagine ground wire but seems sensors are often bad too. Thanks for any input
