    I have a 2008 2500HD and had a simiar noise coming from mine. Difference though, mine was happening in 2WD, but not at first in 4wd. Took it to the shop, and told them it almost sounded like the axle shaft was rubbing on the shock mount. Later to find out, my CV joint out at the drivers side wheel had come apart. They replaced the CV joint, put it all back together, and no more noise. Maybe that is the issue?
