I was thinking of doing the same thing with led strips but since i found this hood lamp for free with wiring I was just trying to find out where I can plug the wires into. Much thanks for the website referral. Ill definitively check the site out. Im not good with wiring so Im definitely handicap when it comes to this stuff. I remember those wind up cable lights. They were very convenient for sure. I was thinking of popping in an LED bulb to see just how much this O.G. lamp would shine over the engine bay but at this point Im thinking adding some sort of strip would be easier if I can find a how to tutorial being I havent much experience with wiring it up.

Hi fellas, I have a 2003 RCSB WT and was wondering if anyone can tell me where the under the hood lamp orange and black wires connect to which block on the fuse block in the engine bay? Or can anyone tell me where I can find a wire diagram that would explain it to me? Ive been searching for a few days on google, youtube and AI search but havent found an exact location these wires connect to. I recently connected some wires for fog/driver lights and found they connect to the green block but Im having trouble finding information for the hood lamp.

Would anyone know the name of what these are called? They're right under the carpet and attach to the floor atop the rocker panel. I've been searching online for a few nights, checking gm parts websites with their diagrams, looked over on LMC & looking thru rock autos list of parts but cant seem to find the part or proper name. I'd like to get 2 new ones for my truck.

Hey fellas, I have a 03 silverado 1500 2wd with a swapped 5.3 v8 and swapped 4L80e auto trans. Yesterday I found out I need a new transmission shifter cable. I got stuck and couldnt get the shifter out of park. Found out the plastic casting has busted apart. I've been looking at GM Part #'s 12477639(2wd) & 12477640(4wd) both on amazon are claiming to not fit my truck. Anyone know if the 12477640 (4wd), cable is longer than the 12477639? Being my truck was swapped to a 4L80e transmission anyone know if the 12477639 cable be correct cable for my vehicle? Would the 12477640 still work? I can find that one in stock.

It doesnt seem too bad on fuel consumption. If I go 17 miles one way the needle barely moves. I havent done the exact mileage count as I only stick around $15 to $25 in it. Never enough to fill the tank yet due to this inflation nonsense. I have gotten a full tank a few times since I bought it but again I dont think its using a whole noticeable amount. I could be wrong though. You guys brought up a good point that I havent thought about. I know they dont looking like high flow cats at least not to my limit knowledge anyway. When I was last under there it looked like the original cats are on it but Im wondering if anyone knocked out the inside of them? Is there any way I can tell if the cats are working correctly or still there? I have a zurich z13s code reader but thats about it. You're correct it really does remind me of the old 60-70s or even the square body 350 exhuast smell. It does smell like raw fuel it just smell like strong fumes. Sorry I dont have anything but a zurich z13s and limit knowledge about all this. Ive been reading and doing some research and asking questions to anyone and everyone since I cant find a shop that tunes in my area. Its a rural area and not many of the garages are into this around here. At least i havent found a shop yet anyway. I was thinking about taking it to the dealer and seeing what they say but I dont want someone that doesnt know what theyre doing poking around on it just incase it is set up decently. Im gonna get some video of it idling soon and post it up. If anyone would take a quick listen of it when I post it, that would greatly be appreciative. Again i think its running fine as it sounds like its purring. The idle is set at 1100 rpm for idle which I thought was a little on the high side but after viewing a video on BTR's website I hear different set ups on each truck featured in the video. Im thinking a higher idle will offer a smoother idle with this cam. I'm thinking I have this cam. I cant be certain as I wasnt there when the seller put it in the engine.

So far i believe the cats are working correctly. No other codes other than the EVAP large leak. When the o2 sensor went, it thru a code instantly. It was the one on the driver side before the cat that needed replacing. It is all the time that you smell it. I believe the cats are original as welll. Could they be carboned up and not blocked? Can they be cleaned out? Is there any way I can find out if there is a tune on it? If it helps any I had a 95 2 door tahoe with the stock 5.7 350 engine and stock trans and it had a flowmaster muffler on it and it smelled the same way. Strong fumes at idle. No ecu codes on that truck either. Original cats too. Never figured that one out.

Hey guys, I picked up a 03 RCSB Silverado a while ago. It was originally a v6 truck but the person I bought it from did a 5.3 gen 4 swap along with a 4L8e swap. He replaced the heads to 706 heads that are lightly ported. He did a Btr stage3 cam kit, DOD delete & used 6.0 truck intake and injectors. He put a new magna flow muffler on it as well. So far I have replaced the mass air flow sensor on it with a new OEM one. I put a new 02 sensor on it as well. There were codes being thrown for these replaced parts. But ever since I bought the truck it has a strong odor of exhaust. There are no leaks in the exhaust. It sounds really good with the magna flow muffler but the exhaust smell is enough to knock you out when standing by the tail pipe. It smells at idle and will fill up the garage instantly. Outside you dont smell it in the cab with the windows closed but you will smell it at idle with the windows down if the wind blows your way. I do have a EVAP large leak that is intermittent and kicking the CEL at times. Im currently trying to find that leak. Can anyone share some advice on what I can check to cure the strong smell? Is it possible it's the magna flow muffler itself?

Much appreciated. I was just searching thru a parts website and found a smaller break down of the parts listed for the cab. Your link is much more viewable. So a big thank you. I am assuming this is going to be the inner rocker panel as I cant find just the channel piece. I outlined the part of the floor I am in need of. By the photos in the diagram its hard to make out if the inner rocker panel has this part of the floor attached to it.

Sorry for not including the year model. Its a 2003. Can you help me identify what that panel would be listed under? I tried searching before posting this but cant seem to come with any terminology that will bring that panel up for me.

I recently found I am in need of a floor pan for the driver side of the cab (regular cab). Checking it out, Along the floor pan joint I have rust where the wires lay or channel part of the floor is near the door seal. It looks to butt up to the outter rocker panel. Im no professional so Im asking for help here. Is this section part of the inner rocker panel or is it something else? Do they make a replacement panel for this section?

Much thanks for the info. So just run new lines for a 5.3 and get the accumulator for a 5.3 and I should be good then? Anything else needed? Would you know what the part # is for the switch on the discharge line?

03 silverado originally a 4.3 6 cylinder engine with 4l60e trans. It has been swapped to a 5.3 LM7 Engine and 4l80e trans. My condenser, discharge line (high pressure) hose with switch, orifice tube and accumulator all need to be replaced. Ive been comparing some part numbers on rock auto and it seems the condenser and orifice tube are the same GM part numbers between the 4.3 & 5.3 As for the Accumulator there is no GM part # for the 5.3 and all aftermarket accumulator #'s seem to differ on between the 4.3 & 5.3. Running into the same problem with the discharge line too. All opposite numbers. Anyone that has done a swap can you please advise what accumulator and discharge line with switch that you have used? I could also use a part # for the switch on the discharge line & if there is a seal kit available unless all seals come with the new parts?

I need a little guidance on how to properly connect a horn. I bought an 03 Silverado that was originally a 6 cylinder truck. Its got a 5.3 in it now with electric fans and 4L80E trans. I noticed I didn't have a high side for the horn. I checked for the wire connector and that is missing as well. I can't find it anywhere. Not sure if that would have been used for the electric fan or ???? Either way I got a wire connector and high side horn. I'm relocating them to the grille area as well. I rooted out the low side wiring and found the green wire and ground that appears to be tied in with other grounds and a piece of heat shrink with dot yellow dashes. Can anyone tell me how to properly tap the green power wire for the high side horn? I was going to splice the green wire from the low side horn but felt that would be a hack job and didn't want to go that route. Would I need to find the horn relay and wire the green wire into that? Is there an easy way to do that? As for the ground I was thinking on just grounding it to frame with the electric fan grounds, battery ground and some other ground thats bolted to the mounting post of the frame. I searched around YT but so far havent found exactly my problem on how to go about this. Here are some photos of what Ive done so far.
