  1. So I’ve had my new 2024 High Country for 3 months now and it has 1,500 miles. Shortly after bringing it home I started hearing noises coming from under the truck and under the hood. First noise is a chirp heard on cold starts that lasts until the RPM’s stabilize then it will turn into a clicking noise that goes away when put into gear. The chirp can also be heard when in park idling, which made me think a belt somewhere but it also chirps when the truck downshifts from, presumably, 2nd to 1st gear around 14mph. It also doesn’t seem to happen when driving in manual mode in 9th gear, which as I understand it deactivates the DFM. So it leads me to believe it’s the lifters, for which the dealer said “just get a tuner and disable them”. For some reason hearing that come from a dealer service center just put a bad taste in my mouth. Pretty much sounds like them saying, yeah we know the lifters are ****** and make a ton of noise and fail but we can’t and won’t try and fix them. Anyway it just came back from the dealer yesterday who said the clicking noise was the DFM solenoid and they are “surprised” by how much noise they make but no further action required. Do the solenoids really make a clicking noise? Or are my thoughts of it being more of a ticking time bomb for a faulty lifter more accurate? And as far as the chirping they said they didn’t hear anything and couldn’t reproduce the chirp while driving. But of course I heard it on my way home. I told them I thought they might say that so I would record the noise and asked if next time I could drive with a tech to reproduce the noise. Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill with these noises? Im the type of guy that won’t be able to just ignore the noises, I’ll just hear them every time and they’re going to annoy the hell out of me. I love the truck otherwise but I don’t think a 80k truck should be making these noises.
