How’s it going I’m new to the forum world so bare with me y’all lol. So I picked up a 2006 Silverado 4x4 for 1k.. guy had just replaced the engine, transmission, and transfer case. All have around 700 miles on it. I got it home had to replace brake lines witch sucked.. got it running an noticed the cooling fans not working. Jumped each. They were good. Unplugged the ect they came right on so I replaced the ect sensor an thermostat while I was at it. All seemed to be working fans cam on gauge reads 210. Until the other morning goin to work it read 210 going down the highway an it just dropped to 160 an stays. Truck doesn’t overheat. Fans come on. But it stays at 160. A few times it came up to normal then just dropped back down. Do y’all think it’s the gauge cluster beings I changed the temp sensor and thermostat. And it not running hot. Also put a scanner an read the live data an it showed while hot running 206 temp..
