I have a 2003 Silverado that I put a stereo system in. I want to add a bigger alternator because system needs more power. I bought a mechman 500 amp alternator and 91102r external regulator, but being external regulator it is not plug and play.
My question is, is there a way to get the factory system to see that it's actually charging the battery or trick it to think it's still hooked up to alternator? With this external regulator, it doesn't use factory alternator plug, therefore it will display battery not charging on dash display and have battery light on. Thanks
