I’ve watched every YouTube video I can find, most of them don’t have the mirror housing separate from the shroud, and the one that does doesn’t have detailed explanation of reassemble. Trying to figure out what I’m missing, literally have pushed with all my strength and can’t get it together. Can’t believe something hasn’t broken yet.

Replacing my mirror caps on 2021 Sierra, got the shroud separated from the back piece and the cap replaced, now for the life of me can’t get the 2 prices back together. I’ve tried screwing in the shroud with the 2 torx screws and forcing the back piece back on but it just doesn’t want to line up and snap into place. what am I missing, been struggling with this for 2 hours now and have tried enough force that I thought something would break.
