  1. I had the same problem with my 2018 GMC Canyon, and it was indeed the screen. After watching enough youtube videos on removing/installation, I ordered a replacement screen from a supplier in China. I first removed the screen and retrieved the exact part # from the back. A quick google and it came up with a supplier on AliExpress. The seller had both new and used, and I went with new, and he/she was quick to respond to any questions I had. Yes, it's a China supplier, but the process was smooth, and I got the replacement screen in about 10 days (they quote a month) via US Mail. I paid with PayPal, and AliExpress has feature that requests you confirm receipt in good condition before they release funds to the seller. Installation was quick (I had been through the removal and reinstall of the old screen before), and all issues went away (2 months now). My total costs were about $210 for the screen shipped, and about $8 for some plastic tools from Amazon designed for working on modern vehicle interiors (basically plastic pry tools). The new screen is noticeably brighter and crisper than the old one, and all issues are gone. I'm tempted buy another as back up should this one fail in a few years. All in all, I believe my 2 year trip through this ordeal is over.
