  1. Actually, that might be it! I was thinking a bolt would go through the ball hole, but I'll take a look to see if there are other mounting holes.
  2. Thanks! but no - that's an option for sure but I'd have to remove the original hitch. There's a structure like a hitch in place, that just seems to exist to transfer the load from the bumper hitch to the frame.
  3. Bought a '17 Sierra 1500 with a frame-mounted hitch that's sort of embedded in the back bumper. Looks like it would take a 5/8 OD 2" ball - but the shank would have to be about 3-1/2" long to get a nut and lock washer on. I haven't been able to find anything about this hitch online. A ball on the bumper would be very high; ideally I wondered if there was a bolt-on receiver that would go under the bumper and use the existing frame mounted hitch. Anyone seen something like this or know the setup?
