I've seen several questions on how to remove the multifunction tailgate so they can install their slide-in cab-over camper. Truck – GMC 3500 Ultimate Short Box Camper – 2018 Arctic Fox 811 with a slide out. To eliminate the removal of the tailgate to accommodate the slide-in camper, I fabricated 2 brackets to partially hold open the top part of the multifunction tailgate. It was pretty easy and I no longer need to remove the tailgate to install my cab-over camper. One note; The brackets need to be installed with the tailgate open. See attached pics for a better understanding. Thoughts on this idea?
