I did not notice that my 2024 Silverado had no 12volt convince plug for my radar detector. When I did finally figure out it was not hidden but just non existent I ordered a usb that was supposed to convert from 5v to 12v to power my escort radar detector. I tried 2 different cords neither would even power up the unit. Does anyone know of a cord or a link to that cord that works. Is there a work around that will not void my warranty with chevy that anyone is aware of I was told if I hard wired it in I would void warranty but could pay stealership to do it without voiding warranty. Is anyone aware if I use the c charging port if that will work.
My understanding is the usb while the cord does convert to 12v the amperage is to low for the radar detector to operate, this is also why it won't charge an I pad as well I am being told. In my opinion chevy really screwed this up
