  1. I’ll keep an eye on it, thanks guys.
  2. Hi guys, came here to discuss my fuel level “possible issue”, I just bought a 25 2500HD, 6.6 gasser, and wanted to see how accurate the gauge was. Knowing I have a 36 gallon tank, that is 9 gallons per 1/4 tank. I had just over 3/4 tank of gas so I went to fill up thinking I will only need 8-8.5 gallons to do so. It took just over 11 gallons. Is that normal? Will it get more accurate the lower the tank gets maybe? To me, 3 gallons is a lot to be off, no? What are your experiences?
  3. I have a new 2025 Silverado 2500HD with the power up and down feature that I slightly damaged on the top and tweaked it. I may have to locate a new take-off. Tailgate. what years fit? anyone know of a place that does take offs? I already looked locally at upfitter shops and Facebook. No dice…. prefer a Black LT tailgate if anyone knows of one! With bedliner sprayed. It’s a long shot…….
  4. So I did make some measurements and from what I can see, I won’t be able to tow level. I know of three people “on the internet” with a 2500HD and my exact 5th wheel that are towing level. So it makes no sense to me. Here is a link to the one video I found online of a trailer just like mine where a guy talks about towing level. I must be missing something. I say this because from the ground to my kingpin is about 49”. The trucks bed floor is around 37” and the hitch is another 14”. That’s 51” , about 2” too high……so maybe the weight of the trailer brings it down 2” to level? He may still be a tad nose high though …. Here is that link.
  5. I was eyeing up the lowered flatbed version but they told me that it would be too low and my trailer would make contact with bedrails. I’m thinking it may work with the ball in the highest position. That is always an option for me as well if yep they will let me buy one and return it if it’s too low. My 5th wheel is an Escape 5.0TA designed for a 1/2 ton but I wanted a 2500 and seeing what I need to do to make it work. Thanks for the info! ohh, the height of my Andersen rail mount version and the use of the Demco 6333 adapter should be about the same height as the Andersen gooseneck ball hitch. So yeah, the lowered flatbed version may be worth a try with the ball in the most upright position.
  6. Does anyone know if adding 1-2” drop shackles will void any kind of factory warranty? I think I already know this answer of yes, but only if they can prove the shackles caused an issue with what is being found defective…… im buying a 2500HD and will be towing a small lightweight 5th wheel designed for a 1/2 ton. The truck may be too tall to tow it level. I’m looking for a way to lower the truck if needed but not cause any issues. Would you install 1-2” drop shackles? The pin weight on my 5th wheel is around 900 pounds. im curious if this will affect pinion angle or cause vibrations…….
  7. Does anyone know if there is room on the frame to mount a 5th wheel rail kit to a truck that already has the prep package? To use the prep package I need to use the Demco 6333 adapter to fit my Andersen hitch. That adapter is about 2” tall. I am pulling a 5th wheel designed for a 1/2 ton, typically a lower truck, and with the height of a 2500, and then the height of the Demco adapter it may be too high for my use. The rails that you just bolt down with frame brackets are only 1” tall. Just curious if anyone knew……I guess I could try 1-2” drop shackles but will that void a warranty?
  8. Hi group! Can anyone say with certainty that if you have a 2025 2500HD with the puck system, can you still buy a bolt down rail kit for a fifth wheel (Industry standard rails) and install it or would the puck system interfere with that install? I know this sounds kinda odd but I’m looking at a new truck, a 2025, and the use of an adapter on the factory puck system would cause my camper to ride too high. The truck I’m looking at has the puck system. I don’t think I can use it. Rails should work! But can I? Thanks!
  9. How is your 6.2 doing? I really want this engine but I keep reading all the issues with rods, bearings and of course the lifters…..too many to count on numerous forums.
  10. Hi group, I have a 2010 double cab Silverado z71 4x4 with a 5.3 and 3.08 gears. I also pull a 5000 pound fiberglass Escape 5.0 5th wheel camper ( designed for a 1/2 ton). the truck does not really have a ton of power in the hills and on take off but pulls great otherwise. I attribute that to the gears in the rearend and the number of trans gears. would I notice a huge difference and be MUCH happier with a newer 2024 Silverado, crew cab, max tow with the 5.3 and the 3.42 gears and 10 speed trans? Noticeable difference? My understanding this has about 35 more HP and about 40ft/pounds more torque then my 2010 5.3. Is this noticeable? I like the 6.2 engine but too many problems I see guys having with bearings, rods, lifters , etc…….more then just the 5.3 lifters that are out there. I welcome your input from those who have ad both experiences with the above combos……
  11. Does anyone know what the change was for 2024? I am interested in a 2024 or 2025 RST 1500 with the 6.2 with max towing package. I hear all these 6.2 issues but they seem to be mostly on older 6.2’s? I’m new here but came to gather some info to make an informed purchase, thanks for having me and I welcome your input! Thanks all.
