  1. My vacuum pump still works on my 2015 Silverado 5.3, but everyone else's experiences spooked me into action; I abandoned it in place. My suggestion (and it works perfectly) is: Locate your PCV vacuum line on driver side of engine. Remove it (for safekeeping), and replace it with 3/8" rubber vacuum hose. Clamp new hose back on to PCV valve at front of engine and onto the intake manifold vacuum port. Cut that hose in half about midway back. Insert a 3/8" brass T to rejoin the halves. Remove original vacuum pump tubing from vacuum detection module at brake booster port. Connect another piece of 3/8" rubber vacuum hose to it and the remaining port on the T. Ensure that all connections are leak tight. Whether in V8 or V4 mode, it works great. Don't forget to cut your vacuum pump drive belt.
