  1. Redwngr, I will look again, but mine is one of the early 2015s and may need an ECM reprogram in order to get it. I will look tomorrow to see if it is there Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I do not have that page in my 2015 2500HD either Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Just wanted to let everyone know that my whistling noise is gone. I have driven it for a couple of weeks without any noise. Here is a breakdown of what all was done to my truck: Drivers mirror replaced, XM antenna replaced (TSB), VIN identification rivets (TSB), center light assembly replaced. The dealership was always concerned and helpful with trying to find the problem. I am glad it is finally gone and I have a quiet interior.
  4. The dealer replaced my center light today. When I looked at it, there was a seal between the light and my cab. When I asked, they told me it was an update. I do not care as long as that annoying whistle is gone. Hopefully after numerous trips to the dealers and numerous items being changed, I am fixed. Only time will tell.
  5. Well the tape trick seems to work. I seemed to have narrowed it down to the center light assembly. I will have the dealer order a new light assembly and that should fix my whistling problem.
  6. XM antenna did not fix the problem. On a recent trip, it was whistling a lot. Stopped at the first Lowe's, bought a roll of painters tape and followed odonnell747's idea and started taping things off till it stopped. Just like odonnell747, I believe it is my center light assembly. I need for it to warm up some so I can be sure this is it. Mine only seems to whistles when the temperature is above 60 degrees. Sorry it has been a while, but the temperature is a factor now.
  7. Dealer called me yesterday. Apparently this may be a common problem. There is a notice for the XM antennas. They have ordered a new one for my truck. We will see if this fixes my issue.
  8. All the antenna did not make a difference. I went on a trip last week and left the truck at the dealers and here is what they came up with. There was a notice put out by GM last week. It talks about whistling noise coming through the engine bay and coming up through the ID plate rivets. So they removed and replaced cowling panel and sealed ID plate rivets. They also found left upper fender to hood molding loose and secured it. I will drive it for a while and let everyone know if this fixed it. It is nice to know the GM has recognized that there is a whistling noise and has put something out. I can only hope this is the fix for mine.
  9. Silverado4x4...I am going on a trip tomorrow and will take off my antenna and see what happens. I am willing to try most things in an effort to help my dealership find the answer to this noise
  10. Well after driving it for a few days, it is still whistling! I do not believe it is the mirror after all they have done. Not sure what it is. My only wish is they would hear it when they drive it. I have left my truck with them for about 18 days and they have never heard one whistle. Back to the shop it goes.
  11. Well the saga continues. They have replaced my drivers side mirror. I just got the truck back yesterday. I did not hear any whistling noise on the way home. Only time will tell if this fixed my whistling noise.
  12. My truck is back at the dealers this week. They are going to continue and see if they can narrow down what is making the noise. It does seem like it is much better after the last visit. The lead mechanic called me yesterday and asked if there was any change since the last visit. I told him the same as I told the Service Manager; what ever you did with the mirror, seemed to help, but it is still there, just not to the same degree. I will get my truck back this Friday, but I will be going out of town again Saturday. I will let everyone know if there are any changes and what they did this week in an attempt to fix my situations.
  13. Oldy800, I like your idea of the new mirrors! Maybe I will ask for them when I go back. Sorry to hear about everyone else having issues with no answers on their whistling noise.
  14. All, I think my dealer has hit the mark with the tow mirrors. They tightened up the drivers side tow mirror. I have been driving my truck for two weeks now and I have not hade the loud whistling noise I previously had. I still have a faint whistle every now and again. Nothing like it was. I am going to take it back to them and see if there is anything else they can do for the tow mirrors to get ride of the every so often noise.
  15. I got back Friday and the dealer said they tightened the drivers mirror. After driving it for a while yesterday, the noise has not been fixed. I talked to them and they told me from the beginning it may take a bit to figure out where it is coming from. I will be setting up another appointment to see if they can find anything else.
  16. I have taken my 2015 in for an oil change and they were not able to duplicate the whistling noise and gave it back. I asked if I could take someone with me and show them and they sent a tech with me. We were unable to duplicate it but I had a recording of the noise. They suggested giving them the truck and they would put me in another vehicle while they tried to find the noise. I am giving them the truck tomorrow while I am out of town for a week. I will let everyone know what they find or don't find in a week. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. I was on another forum and some over there said their Dad's truck had the same issue and it was the windshield. Local dealer fixed the problem. I have not taken mine in yet, but will let everyone know the outcome. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. No moon roof on mine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. I recently bought a 2015 and have a whistling noise when I get to around 60 MPH. It sounds like it is either from the roof lights, XM antenna or possibly the windshield. Anyone had or heard of this before? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Mine 07 5.3 started around 65,000 miles. I just got rid of mine at 153,000 miles. It would do it for just a few seconds when started up in the morning. At first, it was just when it was colder, then as time went on, it was each morning. I also started using oil. Periodically, it would give me a puff of smoke out the exhaust like the old diesels when I fist started it up also. Hated to get rid of it, loved that truck, but it was time. Could not see putting the money into it. She was a very reliable truck for seven years. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. 07 GMC SLT 4 X 4 with 5.3 Aluminum with AFM and 86,000 miles. Since new, Valvoline full Synthetic with AC Delco filter. Change oil according to DIC at 5000 - 6000. Use about a quart between changes. Lifter knock only when it is cold enough in Florida.
