Yeah, I've also found that the several of the more expensive pans, $150+ have drains in the center/front but I would definitely install my own plug before I paid that. The dorman pan might work and I may give it a try even though I was trying to avoid a deeper pan. Thanks!

Does anyone know of a 4l60e pan with the drain plug in the middle or front? Unfortunately the cross member is in the way on my 2WD '96 C1500.
