You will need to completely remove the jump seat harness. You do not have to completely remove the console harness. You can unplug the items needed on the console and make the necessary changes and then plug it back in. I found some of the plugs hard to get to and then realized you don't have to unplug them to do the work. With your new console upside down and the jump seat harness laid next to it, it becomes pretty clear what needs to go where. With the write up and pics I did back on Page 74-76 its pretty straight forward.

no info found on the brown connector. I to wanted to make it as plug and play as possible. But cost was also a factor. Being as I am a veteran mobile electronics installer of 20 plus years, it was simply easier to cut open both harnesses and combine the 2. This whole install can be done in less than an hour and a half and does not require the removal of either front seat. I do not see a way to keep the upper glove box usb simply because of the lack of inputs on the hmi. Honestly, the most time consuming part was removing the harness from the original jump seat. Being as I had a buyer for it, I didn’t want to break anything.

I’m curious if you guys read my write up posted here? I put a Silverado console in a 16 Sierra. I took lots of pictures and described in detail what wiring changes were needed to put it in and work. If anyone needs help or doesn’t feel comfortable doing the swap, I’ll help where I can. If your any where near Tyler Tx, 75701, hit me up and come on down.

That pic is whats behind the screen for the radio. Here's a good video of how to get there. I personally started at the bottom.

This is the forward most 12v plug coming out of the dash. This plug is 12v (hot) all the time. It was next to the ashtray and 110 outlet. This is where I spliced in the 2nd 12v plug to power the 2 forward most outlets in the new console top plate. I tied in the new consoles 2 rearward 12v outlets to the original jump seat harness. I was a little surprised being that i have owned this truck almost 2 years now and had no idea that the jump seat 12v outlets were ignition controlled. if your sure on your connections, I would start checking fuses. will have one for the front plugs and one for the rear plugs

Where are you at? Sounds like East Texas. If that's so, come on by, we will figure it out somehow!!

It won't fit. But if you have everything plugged up it will give you something to test with.

Do you still have the 2 usb from the jump seat? could plug that in to test.

one more to clarify

I used the left over 6pin from the new console harness and spliced it into the 6pin wires on the original jump seat harness. Tried to show in this picture. I only used the red, black and blue wires. Don't think the blue makes a difference, but i was there and it was easy to do while out of the truck. Now, I do have to add this. On the console I received, the front usb is only a 2 usb outlet.

My only real question is, can this brown mini usb be used for anything. Its the one that behind the radio faceplate.

Just finished my console swap on a 2016 Sierra. I opted to loose the upper glove box USB in favor of FULL Functionality of all the other USB outlets. Including Carplay. Ordered the AC Delco part mentioned earlier (pic at bottom) and used it in place of the glove box cable at the HMI. A few things I found out during the install: -On the original jump seat harness, the large purple/yellow wires are ignition controlled. Don't tie in the white/brown led wire there. -There are enough plugs between both consoles that you shouldn't have to get the pins for the pin 4 and pin 6 power issue. On that 6 pin, I only useb the red, black, AND BLUE. -You can remove and install the console without removing either front seat. Slide the passenger seat forward, fold back the carpet at the seam, and there are your plugs. Plenty of room to slide the plugs under the seat rail as you remove the console. A few photos. Hope it helps answer a few questions. I cut open the new console harness back to where you see. I remover the USB cable (brown plug) and 6 pin plug. I ditched the usb cable. Keep the 6 pin to use later. brown usb removed Take the left over 6 pin plug and splice it into you origional jump seat harness somewhere around the origional 6 pin plug. I only connected the reb, black, AND BLUE wires. The other wires there are for the 3.5mm audio jack that the forward usb outlet dosent have. Sorry no picture for that. I then ran it to the front of the new console. While your running that wire forward, also run the white/brown led wire with it. I then took the jump seat harness, cut one of the 12v plugs off and wired it as seen in the photos. Word of advice, again, dont tie in the the white/brown led wire here. However, if you would like the wireless charger to work, do tie in the SMALL purple/yellow wire here. Tape up the unused light green wire. I also taped up the unused 12v plug too. Take the 12v plug you just cut off and splice it in to the forward power outlet that was already present on the truck. I also tied in the white /brown led wire here. L] I then unpluged the usb cable that ran to the glove box (green plug) I plugged in the Delco plug and ran it to the center console. As mentioned in previous post, make sure to run it through the new forward console mounting bracket.
