I have checked all the fuses and everything is good. I'm totally baffeled at what's wrong here. Anymore ideas, anybody?

Thanks for the suggestion, Doug. Yes i have tried it with the headlights on & off and nothing changes. The message center is still blank. I have had the drls disabled since ive owned it and we drive it both day and night. Everything else works just like it should. I really hope I can figure this out because I don't want to have to take it to the stealership. I just wonder if a connection somehow can loose somewhere but I don't have a clue of where to start looking. Any more ideas?

Please help. Started up the tahoe and everything was working fine. A few seconds passed by and then the message center went totally blank and the gear selector on the instrument panel (P, R, N, D, 3, 2, 1) is so dim that we can hardly see it. Everything else works normal in the instrument panel (spedo, pressure gauges, etc). The manual dimmer switch for the entire instrument panel is set as high as it will go before turning on the dome light. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
