My truck was doing that but it was having issues going into and out of 2nd and into 4th. No matter how lightly you hit the gas or how hard it wasn't shifting the way it was supposed to. I would start with the smaller fixes and try a trans fluid filter change first but be prepared. Mine ended up being one of the worst case scenarios and needed the transmission rebuilt.
