I currently am driving on 265/70R16 on my '04 Silverado reg cab 4x2. I live in WI. What size tires should I look for and can I put 17 in wheels on it? I can't afford new tires and 17 in ones are much easier to find. I have found some tire/rim combos reasonably priced but all are 17's. I am looking to get info on what size tire would be best. If I stay with 16's should I get narrower tires? Driving in snow is a major consideration. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! -
I have an 04 gmc Sierra Wt with a weird issue. it started when my battery went bad. i use the intermittent pin in the body-12 way-brown in the cab fuse block as an ignition driven accessory. the first thing i noticed was the accessory would only work every now and then. next the blower stopped working, the abs and brake likes came on, all at the same time. after messing with it all day here is the current issue. the abs and brake like come on when the blower speed control it set to any speed other then 0. when set back to 0 the abs and brake lights will turn off. the intermittent pin on the body-12 way-brown has low voltage and cant power my accessory. the constant power pin next to the intermittent pin has full 12 volts. I have checked every fuse and cleaned the ground on the forward driver side and the ground in front of the driver side suspension. I have also added 3 ground wires cab to battery frame to battery block to battery I am at a lose for what to do. Could it be a bad relay? -
I need some help guys, I have a 2004 Sierra 2500HD crew cab 4x4 6.0 gasser. Recently I noticed that my right turn signal was blinking very fast. So first thing I check was the bulbs and they all checked out fine. Then I noticed the the right signal will only blink fast when the headlights are on?!? Nothing changes on the left side. Left side works with headlight on or off. I took the right for or apart to look for grounding wires and anything else that would stand out. Noticed the right side DRL socket was burnt up so I replaced that but it didn't help the signal. I am stumped on this one please help. -
last winter my 04 tahoe described in title started throwing trouble codes 171 174 and 300 to lean both banks and a random misfire code on really cold mornings the check engine light would even flash till i shut it off restarted and it warmed up a bit I have mechanic experience and am for the most part knowledgable in automotive repair the newer stuff is where it gets fuzzy for me so a check engine light will literally drive me crazy on any repair i always buy Ac Delco and if its not made in delco then i get the part that the vehicle came out the factory with despite every oriely auto parts employees efforts to sell me some cheaper shit they have in stock. i replaced all four O2 sensors plugs and wires air filter but replaced with K&N MAF sensor fuel filter which was still the factory one so it had 116,000 miles on it and boy was it dirty despite all this my check engine light kept coming back till spring when the weather warmed up and it stayed gonna thru summer and fall and now that ole jack frost is back the check engine light is back and now instead of throwing 3 codes 171 174 & 300 it throws 5 171 x2 174 x2 and 300 i have never had any problems with the truck i love it it is dependable and chicks like to rub there pussies on the leather while they hang their titties out the sun roof even when the check engine light is on the only thin affected is a little gas mileage bare with me here i always keep the tank full and the gas gauge always reads full beyond the full mark two fill ups ago completely full it read full under the full mark i chalked it up to my miscalculation even though in the back of my mind i knew i hadn't got really piss poor fuel mileage out of that tank and ran that tank till it was running on fumes wasn't cutting out or anything i just knew next time i left the house the first thing to be down is hit a gads station when i went to start my truck today it wouldn't only crank till i pumped the accelerator it finally fired and blew a hell of a puff out the exhaust pipe idled like shit was flashing check engine light so i shut it off restarted it (started without accelerator depression) but threw another hellish cloud out the exhaust still idling like shit i put 1.5 gallons out of my gas can in garage in it and hauled ass to the gas station it ran fine no apparent trouble filled up with gas 20.43 gallons a bottle of lucas injector fuel treatment plus the 1.5 gallons from the house is right at max capacity of the tank 22 gallons once again the fuel gauge read just under the full mark i went to orielys checked the codes again same as before and now to add to my frustration i got a short some where or something going on with the electrical cause my gauge bounces anywhere from 10.5 to 13.5 deepending on what your running in the car heater headlights fog lights but at steady cruise 35mph its still only reading somewhere close to 12.7 maybe its lower than needs to be and for sure lower than it normally runs any help is welcomed i know it was a lot of reading for not a whole lot of info but i cut a lot out about dealing with impotenet retarded orelys help please clue me into to problem so i can fix it cause i cant find a soul who knows whats up with theDTC codes
