  1. Is anyone running larger than stock tires on a new 6.6 gas 2500 or 3500? Interested in learning about what kind of hit your mpg took if so, and would love to hear any feedback on your setup.
  2. Quite a while ago, I bought a set of factory 18" rims from a midnight edition HD. I was planning to run 35x12.50x18's, but tire prices went up and some tires became hard to find. Finally, I found a good deal at my local tire shop on a set of Sumitomo Encounter AT's in 325/65/18. For those that don’t know, Falken tires are made by Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. The Sumitomo Encounter AT has a lot of similarities to the Falken Wildpeak AT3W, which I ran previously and was very pleased with. The Encounter AT is a fairly aggressive all-terrain, with a 60,000 mile warranty and the 3PMS rating. The tread depth in my size is 20/32, which is about the deepest you’ll find in an all-terrain. The 325/65/18 has an overall diameter of 34.7” and a section width of 13.3”. They look huge compared to my old 285/75/17’s. My suspension is completely stock, except for a 1.5" crank (7-8 turns) on the torsion bars and shock extensions. Much to my surprise (and delight), the 325/65/18’s fit without any additional modifications. They’re really tight, but they clear. They barely rub the frame at full lock, but I'm not worried about that. I’ll probably pull back my fender liners with zip ties, for extra peace of mind. They're very close when hitting a bump while turning. They look like they belong on the truck, and I’m quite happy with them. These trucks have a very blocky/wide body style, and a bigger tire helps fill the wheel wells and improve the overall look. Here's a few pictures...
  3. Currently I have a stock 2010 chevy 2500HD and I'm thinking about getting aftermarket wheels. Im looking at a set of 18x9 wheels with a +12 offset, I have a set of 265/70/18 tires laying around, will I have any rubbing issues with this setup
  4. Looking to buy a new set of all terrain tires for my 2016 Silverado (3.5 inch suspension lift). Have many mixed reviews regarding which tires to go with. I am looking for somewhat aggressive look that will hold up well in city usage, and most importantly are quiet on the highway. Looking to run 33's on 20x10 -25 mm offset aftermarket wheels (purchasing a wheel and tire package thats why the wheels are not in the picture) . All opinions and suggestions are appreciated!
  5. Hey guys! New to the forum here. Previously had a Tacoma and switched to a 1500. Wanting to do a 5” lift on my 2020 LT and thinking about doing 33.5s on 12x10s. Does anyone have any pics here I could see that are similar? Looking at 275/60/r20s thanks all!
  6. I’m new here. First post so forgive me if it’s in the wrong thread. I’ve got a 2019 Silverado 2500 W/T which is basically my daily driver, and the first HD truck I’ve owned. The recommended tire pressure is an insane 60psi front, and 80psi in the back (80 being the max for the tire). I understand the need for this when towing/hauling, but with the HD suspension on top of that, it makes for a pretty rough ride. My question is how much can I soften up the tires when driving with no load, without causing any handling problems, or any other potential unknown issues from lowering the tire pressure? Any help appreciated. Thanks
  7. I am wondering if I can fit 35s on a 3in body lift on a 2013 Silverado Z71 4x4. Will I need wheel spacers or offset wheels? Will stock 18in rims work or do I need aftermarket ones? Thanks
  8. My good friend (an F-150 owner) told me that if I was going to get rims, I should always go OEM manufacturer with it instead of going after market. He said, "aftermarket rims look ghetto". I went on Chevy's website and they have a couple of sets of 20" and 22" rims that I REALLY LIKE. Haven't seen anything comparable on line. Does anyone know of any sweet aftermarket rim companies? I don't want to get the Chevy OEM's cuz they're SUPER EXPENSIVE!!!

Hello I dont know if this allowed in here but i will soon have some 2020 RST factory 20inch take offs wrapped with nitto ridge grapplers in 275/55/20 with more that 50% tread left that i wont need as i will be getting new wheels and tires soon. Anyone in GA interested? New the rims are 395 from Detroit wheel and tire website may be cheaper somewhere else let me know. And Nittos new are 1000. So all new this is a 2600 dollar package not to mention TPMS so i will consider taking 1700 for the set. Sorry i dont feel like shipping out of state unless you do all the leg work and tell me where to take them to drop off within reasonable distance to me.. Atl area..... Otherwise i can meet half the distance between me and you. We can work out details if interested. Thank you V/R Greg
  10. Test fitted a 305 55 20 Toyo AT at local tire shop and it fit the stock 20" wheel (no spacer, no mods). It was close to upper control arm. My preference is a Nitto Terra Grappler G2. Is anyone running a 305 on a 20? I pay a restock fee if I order them and they don't fit. Is it worth the gamble?
  11. I am wondering what is the biggest size tire I can fit on the stock 18" rim that came with my truck. I currently have Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires 265/65r18 on my truck that came stock. Is there a possibility of squeezing a 275 under it with the same aspect ratio without having to level out the front? Any help is appreciated.
  12. So I'm not sure if related to my tuner but reading through a lot of other posts and nobody has actually found an answer. My truck is tuned for my 35" tall tires so that the speedometer is correct. Anyways here is whats going on, I can set cruise control at 67mph, bump it up to 85mph but even if I bump it up to 68 once it hits 68mph it cancels cruise control. At 67mph it will stay on. Has anyone found a fix? Do I need to get rid of the tune and put an inline correction for the speedo? As I said, I'm tuned with a bullydog at 34.8inch tires, not sure if this problem was before or after the tune.
  13. Wanting to get bigger tires on my truck, installing a lift kit as well. Can I stretch 285/55/r20's on 20x12 rims with -44 offset? Has anyone does this? Also will this effect my tire life any reviews would be awesome. (Leveling kit recommendations would be awesome as well)
  14. A flat Good Year Wrangler SR-A set the tire shopping in motion, and a 10% off sale on Nittos convinced me to try the 35x11.50r20 Ridge Grapplers. My goal was to get as much tire as possible without having to adjust the suspension so as to retain the stock ride, keep costs down, and achieve the aesthetic I like for modern 4x4 trucks. I was prepared to crank the front keys a few turns for up to 1" of leveling, but my preference was to avoid this if possible. Ridge grapplers have two sidewall designs on the tire; one side reminded me of Transformers, so I went with the more subdued sidewall. This doesn't impact fitment. After about 20 miles of driving and some parking lot testing turning the steering back and forth, the tires fit fine with only a few close spots throughout the range of motion. I've seen people report frame rub at full lock with these sizes; it hasn't happened to my truck yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it rubs mildly while turning sharply over rough terrain. Rear clearance is fine. A few tips: Check the actual dimensions of the tire you're choosing. The Nittos are 35s, but the actual diameter is about 34.7". Each manufacturer is a little different, and most list the true dimensions on their websites. The same applies to metric sizes - a BFG may be narrower than a Toyo. Looking at my truck, 35x12.50r20 would have fit too, but would probably rub on the wheel wells while going over bumps during a turn. The 11.50s provide just enough extra room that my truck has yet to rub, though my mileage count is low (20 miles since install) so I'll update this thread as I add miles. Expect to lose fuel economy. No data yet, but I anticipate a 1-2 MPG drop. Aftermarket wheels change everything. The popular offset or "poking" look makes it harder to stuff big tires without a lift. If you're changing wheels and tires, disregard this thread. What's next? Fresh oil, a detail, and maybe a front window tint. I'd like a Corsa, but they're $$$. Please excuse the dirty truck:
  15. I understand the tire subject has been beaten to death but please hear me out. I currently have the Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 295/55/20. They are E rated tires. I really like how they look but after running them for 2 years, they are loud and harsh in my 2017 crew cab sierra denali 4x4 6.2L . I'm looking for a quiet tire with a SL load rating, comfortable ride but aggressive look. I'll probably be going with 275/60/20 for the new tire size but also considering 285/55/20. I've been doing tons of research, reading reviews and forums but since I have no experience with the 3 tires in the poll, I'm specifically looking for people with first hand experience switching from an E rated tire to a SL / XL / P rated tire. I have also owned the Nitto TerraGrapplers and did like them ok but looking for something different. My truck is mainly driven in the city 85%, highway 10% and about 5% in the country (gravel, muddy fields, etc) while hunting a couple times a year. I also live in Missouri, so we do see some snow from time to time but that is not much of a concern with 4x4 already. Price is less of a concern but since it is relevant: Falken Wildpeak 275/60/20 - $238 each or $952 for 4 Toyo OpenCountry AT3 285/55/20 - $234 each or $936 for 4 Toyo OpenCountry AT3 275/60/20 - $266 each or $1064 for 4 Goodyear TrailRunner 275/60/20 - $156 each or $623 for 4 I'm getting old and want a smoother ride=lame. I know the magnaride is not the smoothest, I plan to see if the tires do the trick for me and if not, suspension is next. Many thanks!!

  17. Looking to upgrade the stock wheels and tires on my '19 Sierra 1500 (extended cab, 4WD). I can get away with just blocks if I go with 33" tires, but need a lift if I go to the 35" tires. I don't want rubbing...but also don't want to get too aggressive on the lift. It is suggested that I go with a 6" lift. I don't do any offloading and I'm not trying to "act" like I do. I just love the look of the bigger whee/tire on this truck. Looking for suggestions from those who went with the 33" tire vs the 35" tire and what size lift you used (if you went with the 35" tire). Just throwing this out there so I can get some feedback from those who have already "figured it out." Thanks all!
  18. Looking to get a decent set of chains/other traction device for my Silverado. I have P265/65/R18 size tires and the owners manual says to not use chains with this size tire as there isn't enough clearance and you risk damage to the vehicle. It also says "Use another type of traction device only if its manufacturer recommends it for use on the vehicle and tire size combination" My question is... has anybody out there found a manufacturer/model of chains where the manufacturer recommends it for this tire size on a 1500?
  19. Set of 265/65R18 BFG All Terrain tires on Ultra Wheels. Came off 2016 Canyon. Tires have decent tread on them. One has a scratch on the sidewall but is not deep( see photos) Wheels are in good shape, shine up very well, one has a little flaking around the rivets but not too bad ( see photos) Asking $800.00. Wheels and tires new were around $2000.00 Nashville area. 615-516-5915
  20. For those curious about tire sizes... I ended up putting 275/60/20 Cooper ATs on my 2015 Sierra 1500. I currently do not have a leveling kit and do not have any rubbing issues. I was going to go with a 2" RC leveling kit and 275/65/20s, but saw some pictures where they were rubbing. I didn't want to risk having to shave back wheel wells for an extra inch of height. I may still put on a 2" leveling kit, but it is NOT necessary for the 60s. The pic is on a slant in a field. Will take a better picture on flat ground!
  21. New to the forum and I’m looking for some help. I have a 2014 Sierra that I’m taking to get a 4” readylift and 35/12.5/22 trail grapplers installed. Im keeping my stock 22” flakes. The lift company says I will need spacers for stock wheels. But Idk what size should I run. I do not want to trim my studs!!

  25. Hello everyone, I am brand new to this site and this is my first post. I was hoping to get some thoughts. So this last week a ordered a new set of wheels and tires for my 2016 silverado 1500. It has a 2" rough country leveling kit and that's all for suspension modification. I ordered 20x9 moto metal mo970 with toyo a/t II's 275/60/20. After a few days have passed I'm starting to feel like I should have gotten bigger tires. Does anyone by chance have pictures of their trucks with 275/60/20 wheels and tires? I really would like to see it, maybe its not too late to change my order. Thanks!
