I'm interested in a quick read of the room. How does everyone feel about the news that GM is moving in the direction of an battery electric truck? Does the brand it's sold under influence if you'd be interested? Are you ready to buy one now or do you think we should wait it out? Thanks for your opinions!

I'm about to install the Chevy Performance Brembo Brake Upgrade on our Silverado. Has anyone else installed this kit? Anyone thinking about it? At first glance, it seems pretty straightforward. After reading the manual, however, I'm realizing I need to take the front wheel bearings off to access the dust shield. Other than that, it seems to be a easy rotor/caliper replacement. Big thanks to @RyanbabZ71 for recommending a great brake bleeding tool! The front set is a true six-piston caliper. The rear calipers are stock calipers painted red to match the fronts. The size increase on the front rotors is significant. I'm gathering the tools I'll need right now. Hopefully I can tear into it next week. I expect the entire process to take me at least a whole day and maybe two days depending on how it goes. Why so long? I'll be photographing and taking video of the entire process. Can't wait to share that with you all. Check back in this thread for progress updates.

I have 2021 AT4 with the 6.2L, just recently a check engine light has come on and am a bit stumped on it. I have read the codes on the ODB11 and the reader I have shows a P2CB9 code but it give me an "information unknown" reading. My GMC app however tells me that nothing is wrong and all systems are normal. I search online and find that the P2CB9 code is a "cooling fan 2 underspeed" however I live in Canada, its -25 degrees Celsius outside and there should be no reason that cooling fan 2 needs to run, or if I need to get it to run, its too cold out to try and get it to engage. Would taking the negative battery post off reset this code? its not like its immediately urgent in my life to get it to the dealership due to im not worried about it overheating, but its blocking my command start from working and its pissing me off because its cold outside. Am I chasing the right rabbit? Thanks in advance

A question here. I put my winter tires and wheels fromy 2019 Silverado 2500HD onto my new 2021 Silverado 3500HD and the truck will not read the TPMS sensors. The tire shop said the dealer needs to reprogram the sensors to the new truck. Took it to the dealer and they say that this cannot be done even though the TPMS part numbers are identical between the years and that I need to buy new sensors for the new truck. Any help would be appreciated as this makes no srnse to me! Thanks in advance.

I purchased my 2021 Yukon AT4 brand new in June. I haven't had to use the heat until recently (I live in TN). The front heat blows warm air while I'm driving, but when I stop at a long light or put it in park, the air starts to blow cold until I start driving it around again. Also, in the rear of the cabin, it's never blown hot air...ever. Even after running the controls on full blast on HI for an hour -- air is still ice cold. I've tried it with the Auto Stop On and Off and it makes no difference. Anyone else have this issue?

Zane Merva Executive Editor / Publisher - GM-Trucks.com October 8th, 2019 Chevrolet is ready to race the 2021 Colorado. Like, really ready to race. This week in fact. The new face for the Colorado mid-size truck will make its public debut October 10th during the 2019 Method Race Wheels Laughlin Desert Classic and will be driven by Hall Racing. Here's a sneak peek at the all new face of the Colorado. Chevrolet also gave us a showing of the production 2021 ZR2 that will debut in one month at the 2019 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Check back with us in November for our first hand take at the new ZR2 when we visit the SEMA Show. Anyways, let's take a look at the changes. What's new with the 2021 Colorado? First off, the changes so far seem to be cosmetic and packaging only. No new features or changes in specs have been announced yet. However, the exterior has been warmed over to bring it in line with the Silverado's front end, without breaking the bank on a full redesign (which is expected in the 2023-2024 MY time frame). Here's the announced 2021 changes. New front end appearance for ZR2 model. Only Colorado model to have "Flow-through Chevrolet Fascia". WT, LT, and Z71 trim levels will receive updated center bars, lower fascias, and new front skid plates. WT and LT will feature "all-new" gold Chevy bowties while the Z71 trim is adorned with a black bowtie. All models receive embossed 'Chevrolet" tailgates and ditch the traditional bowtie on the rear of the vehicle. A new "Sand Dune Metallic" will be offered on Z71 and ZR2 models only. What do you think about the new face of the Colorado?

Bought this vehicle brand new. I love it, and perfect for myself, my family, and the fact it's Diesel puts the cherry on top for me. But... now things have started. We have currently 1,137 miles on the vehicle and had the first message populated: - Service steering column lock. (see photo) Everything else worked, remote start, standard start, and the vehicle had zero issues. The following day from our road trip, we had to go to the DMV with our out-of-state paperwork to submit for plates. My wife now received a new message. - Service emissions system. See owners manual. (see photo) She drove to the DMV and left to get the smog paperwork. Then a new issue: - Vehicle remote start isn't working. (see photo) She is in the car and tries to start... Nothing. She tries again. It starts, and she drives it to a local dealer. They come to look and scheduled us for an appointment. She drives the vehicle now, and Onstar now shows the emission issue. ( see photo ) We now can't register the vehicle in California, because, the check engine light is on, emissions warning, and they won't smog it until it's corrected. Awesome... I noticed that none of these issues happened until it updated the software in the vehicle. I'm hoping this is something that can be fixed. I've been looking around for answers and only finding more issues that are all pretty shitty. Sorry, no better way to say it. I've also seen a post of people saying, “deal with it, it's a new breed of vehicles,” etc. I’d challenge that answer. No one should pay this much for a vehicle and face these issues I'm reading about. So here's what I'm going to do, document everything, and I mean everything. This will be for everyone who may have this issue now or who may come across it. My opinion...but I'm not a mechanic, is that there is a massive software and hardware issue with these models. I believe GM internally has to know about this from Dealers, Customer Service, Compliance Reports, etc. I'm sure all issues are in the queue to be address or fixed. I do, however, feel with the challenges of physical hardware that they chose a vendor that was most cost-effective, which is a component of these issues a long with the capability to support the software complexity of the current models. Or maybe I'm just wearing a tin hat, who knows. So, I open this up to you. Any advice, similar issues, outcomes you've faced, and other topics, please comment below. May the journey of dealership visits begin. Hopefully, this journey isn't to long.

parkerws posted a topic in 2020+ Silverado HD & Sierra HD Mods
I am wondering if anyone knows of metal skid plates available for the 2020/2021 Silverado 2500HD - and where to order them from.. URL, parts numbers, etc. I am mainly looking for metal skid plates that cover the engine components at the front and one to cover the transfer case further back. -
Infotainment system question
DrBaylor posted a topic in 2019-2023 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
I purchased a 2021 Silverado Z71 in April, and I love it, but an odd quirk with the infotainment system. Each time I get in my truck, with the same cell phone I always carry, I cannot make a voice activated call for up to 5 minutes. The response is always "please wait, I am loading your contacts". Why does the system load my contacts each time I get it the vehicle? Is there any way to have it store the contacts and not upload every time? Is it supposed to do this? -
Hello All, New to this site, just bought a new 2021 Silverado LT Trail Boss a few weeks ago. One of the first things I am doing to this truck is upgrading the few halogen bulbs that GM decided to keep on it. The Rear backup and license plate lights all went super smooth, no issue. But when I went to remove the front blinker bulb from the housing I was faced with a different configuration than what I've seen. The place where you would normally find the circular grip for twisting out the bulb has a small hex head there in place, and it does not look to actually come apart (Please see attached picture). I think that I might have a different blinker than what normally comes with this trim (and I think it may already be LED) but I am unable to find anything online that resembles or mentions this configuration. I am only able to find the typical bulb backing which does not match mine. Does anyone have insight to this or possibly know what kind of blinker I have? I have included a picture of the back of the blinker as well as the light housing itself as I think it too looks slightly different than others I have seen. Thanks in advance!

I've had my truck for 10 days. Many things are great , it's the 2021 Crew cab, 5.3ecotech v-8 RST Z71. I now have 670 miles, none off- road. I traded in my 2006 Z71 at 168,000miles. This new truck has alot of rattles, I wasn't expecting that. What is it? It's coming from the middle or rear of the truck. Maybe the back seats and or the tailgate. Another rattle is up front around the brakes or tires. Anyone else have this going on?

GM has available now factory camper mirrors! Time for a nice run down on them and what is involved. What they are: Factory tow mirrors. https://accessories.chevrolet.com/product/extended-view-tow-mirrors-in-black-84731241?year=2020&make=Chevrolet&model=Silverado%201500&categoryId=98023 Price? Part #? 84731241 is the #, MSRP for the mirror package is $730. What do they feature? Includes lower convex spotter glass, as well as cargo lamps, clearance lamps and integrated turn signal indicator. Manual extend and manual fold. The good: -GM has factory tow mirrors available as an accessory for trucks that don't have them! The bad: - 2020+up ONLY at the moment. They do NOT list them for 2019. - They DO REQUIRE HARNESS SWAPS. Both front doors require new door harnesses. - If you have the front spotter lights in the mirrors or have blind spot alert, THESE WILL NOT WORK! - BCM calibration required for ALL models to make all lighting function. If you have the dealer do it, its about 3.6 hours. Harness numbers will be listed below: 2020-2021 Crew and Double Cab with KEYED ignition and DLF mirror: 84622369 and 84622370 2020-2021 Regular Cab with KEYED ignition and DLF mirror: 84622376 and 84622380 2020-2021 Crew and Double Cab with PUSH BUTTON ignition and DLF mirror: 84622371 and 84622372
