  1. It's October 2019 and rumors are swirling around a potential General Motors Electric Pickup, code named "Project O" We just covered this news here: https://www.gm-trucks.com/your-first-electric-pickup-may-be-a-hummer/ We've created this forum as a place to discuss these future electric vehicles and the news around their development in the leadup to 2021.
  2. Can any give some insight on which wires are connected to which speakers on the green plug. I have attached a picture. There are a total of 10 wires and I’m assuming they are (LF+/-)(RF+/-), (RR+/-), (LR+/-) 12V and ground but do not know which goes to where. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
  3. It's never too early to start talking about the process of shopping around for a dealer, pricing, the ordering process, deposits, and production delivery times. Although we're still months away from orders being accepted, this thread is meant to be a place where everyone can check in and share their experiences as they go through the process. I'm also going to document as many important dates in this initial post as I can. I'll attempt to keep everyone up to date on start of production, any ordering limitations, and when the ordering system will go live. 4. Just installed the Go Rhino RB20’s with the Bed liner coating. I’m really happy with how they look... I wanted something high and tight to the bottom of the cab.
  5. new here. just throwing this out there to see if anyone has info on how hard it is to convert the front bumper on a 2006 Silverado 2500HD to a 2018 Silverado 2500HD or what needs to be done to get it done. heres a picture i found on Facebook of it done. just need more info.
  6. So around this time of year last year I changed my brakes and my rotors and was going to replace my front bearings as well. My 08 is a Michigan truck so it’s got a plethora of rust accumulated. One of caliper bolts had seized so I completed what I could with the brakes and headed home to figure the best attack for a seized rusted bolt with thread lock. Anyways that bolt was a ******, so I went to my brother cause he had an air compressor and thought we’d try that. Needless to say the bolt one, so my brother put the wheel back together but before he put the caliper back in place over the rotor he decided to decompress the spring?. Why? I have zero idea thought it was pointless for him to do that Considering I had to do it to change the springs. So I start to head back home just worried about getting this bolt out so I can change my bearing. So as I start to leave I don’t notice anything out of place until I get down the road and my brake pedal goes to the floor. It made no sense, I couldn’t figure out what happened in the 30 minutes I was there; that would take my brakes from having good pressure to having none. Then not long after that my fuel pump goes. Old Murphy’s law coming in clutch for me! So I get the fuel pump swapped get the caliper freed so I could replace my bearing. Then go to bleed my brakes and I can’t get any of my brake pedal back. I have abs so I I went out and bought a scan tool cause I heard bleeding brakes with an abs system without the scan tool is difficult and is more than likely the reason my brakes still go to the floor. So I do everything the device tells me to. There’s no change, except now I can’t shift it out of park to even attempt to check if there’s at least some pressure. I’ve been battling these brakes so at least the last half of 2021 my family is telling me to just sell it for whatever. Honestly I don’t want to sell it I rather enjoy having it and am not ready to let it go. Any help or advice would be so appreciated!
  7. I'm interested in a quick read of the room. How does everyone feel about the news that GM is moving in the direction of an battery electric truck? Does the brand it's sold under influence if you'd be interested? Are you ready to buy one now or do you think we should wait it out? Thanks for your opinions!
  8. So, what do you think of the newly announced Blazer? Good choice for the legendary name? Bad use of badge you once loved? Let us know.
  9. Alright, before you say you don’t hear anything let me explain first. This video posted below is my 2021 Trail Boss 3500k miles and has the most annoying exhaust sound. I know there’s some serious pro’s on here who could tell me what’s going on. Essentially any time I start it up high RPM, accelerate, or decrease RPM’s I’m greeted with this annoying metallic rattling noise coming from exhaust. Took it to dealer who claims it’s normal (per-usual) and says it’s the liters I can hear in the exhaust tone. They checked exhaust donuts and heat shields and found no issue. However you can hear a rattle and what sounds like an exhaust leak. Was told it’s a flapper but it’s not, flapper is toward back passenger side. This is front passenger side. I could best describe it as escaping air coming from somewhere near the manifold I’d assume. Almost like a metallic farting exhaust noise for lack of better description. Videos to follow of noise while commuting.
  10. Zane Merva Executive Editor / Publisher - GM-Trucks.com October 8th, 2019 Chevrolet is ready to race the 2021 Colorado. Like, really ready to race. This week in fact. The new face for the Colorado mid-size truck will make its public debut October 10th during the 2019 Method Race Wheels Laughlin Desert Classic and will be driven by Hall Racing. Here's a sneak peek at the all new face of the Colorado. Chevrolet also gave us a showing of the production 2021 ZR2 that will debut in one month at the 2019 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Check back with us in November for our first hand take at the new ZR2 when we visit the SEMA Show. Anyways, let's take a look at the changes. What's new with the 2021 Colorado? First off, the changes so far seem to be cosmetic and packaging only. No new features or changes in specs have been announced yet. However, the exterior has been warmed over to bring it in line with the Silverado's front end, without breaking the bank on a full redesign (which is expected in the 2023-2024 MY time frame). Here's the announced 2021 changes. New front end appearance for ZR2 model. Only Colorado model to have "Flow-through Chevrolet Fascia". WT, LT, and Z71 trim levels will receive updated center bars, lower fascias, and new front skid plates. WT and LT will feature "all-new" gold Chevy bowties while the Z71 trim is adorned with a black bowtie. All models receive embossed 'Chevrolet" tailgates and ditch the traditional bowtie on the rear of the vehicle. A new "Sand Dune Metallic" will be offered on Z71 and ZR2 models only. What do you think about the new face of the Colorado?
  11. Hey everyone! Just went out yesterday and picked me up a 138k original miles rust free 1994 stepside! It could use some new paint from sun fade (southern truck) but other then that it's and incredibly example inside and out. Now, the main reason I'm starting this thread is because when I opened the door I noticed it wasn't your normal interior, instead it was called an Outrider by UCI? I personally have never heard of this edition? And would love some additional details and info if anyone has some! I tried some research myself but with little prevail? Is it a much rarer find then I already thought? I'll upload some pics of the truck.
  12. Hi Guys, I just bought a new 2017 Silverado and noticed the digital fuel gauge not showing full...I thought I'd wait until I hit a certain mileage to see if the engine needed to calibrate itself, but this is not the case. GM customer service said "it's normal and just a display..." But my wife has a 2013 Equinox and her digital image depletes as the fuel depletes (works as it should), so GM customer service has to be wrong here. Any guidance would help greatly! ? Attached is a photo I took immediately after fill up. Cheers Gents
  13. Hello all. I have a 2013 silverado w/5.3l flex vin 7. Basically has rough idle in park and drive. Very poor acceleration. Almost seems to bog down when trying to accelerate. It will occasionally surge and for just a split second I can feel a bit of power. Also doesn't want to downshift when I lean on the gas pretty heavy. I've got to do near floor it to get it to down ****** and when it does it will drop down 2 gears a lot of the time. No engine light and it won't set any codes. Showed 0 misfires on all cylinders. Long Fuel trims usually in single digits negs. Fuel pressure 43-46psi at idle and highway. I've replaced throttle position sensor, Accelerator pedal position sensor, manifold pressure sensor, mass air sensor, plugs, coolant temp sensor, oxygen sensors. Fuel pump, intake manifold gaskets twice (now with "updated" steel gaskets), throttle body gasket/seal, injector o-rings (upper and lower). Tested all coils for strong spark. Smoke tested for vac leaks along with propane. It has never failed to start or even had a long start and has never died/stalled. I'm just kinda at a loss at this point. Any help will be appreciated and possibly considered. Thanks
  14. I purchased a brand new Suburban in 2015 from Sawgrass Chevrolet in November 2015. Over the last 6 months my husband and I noticed the paint on the hood of the vehicle is faded and has noticiable swirls. I had it evaluated by a auto body shop and they confirmed the paint is defective and there is no clear coat. I've also been told by the dealership that this is a very common issue they have seen on the hood/ over the engine. Yet, there is nothing they can do, I must contact GM. How is it possible that this is a know issue and there is no resolution. My car is just over four years old! My 10 year old Ford Expedition's paint looked close to brand new compared to this!!! Does anyone have any advice or recommendations? CLASS Action lawsuit?????
  15. 2019 Silverado RST 5.3.. 26k miles. Took it into dealer for software update and minor recall repairs and the truck has died twice in 4 days, luckily only while in park idling. Interior lights and connections all still on but engine shuts off. Only way to restart is to disconnect the battery. Dealer says they can’t get the codes bc the battery was disconnected. No longer feel safe driving a Chevy. Will trade it in once repairs are done. Last 3 Chevy trucks have had some major issues prior to 36k miles. I’ve bought 7 chevys in the past 10 years. dealer seems clueless to the service ESC problems with new model silverados.
  16. Hey Guys, I have a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV with a 5.3L LMG and a 6L80 Trans (MYC) looking to drop in a 6.2L L9H. As far as I understand it is a direct swap. Would I run in to any issues or codes as far as the L9H not having AFM/DOD? I plan on using the 5.3L PCM and having it re flashed to work with the 6.2 Or do I look for a L94 that has FlexFuel, VVT, AFM like the LMG does?
  17. Hello Everyone. I had a question in regards to GM's 8 Speed Transmission. I'm looking into buy a Chevy Silverado, with the RST package. I've notice that package comes with the 8 speed transmission. However, I have look up online, as well as on here, and I've notice people having a lot of problems with that transmission. I also heard that they have done a fix with that transmission. My question is has any one bought the new body style Chevy truck with the 8 speed transmission and have had any problems with it? Did they actually fix it? What are your thoughts? I'm also looking at other packages as well without this transmission too. Thanks!
  18. Hello All, New to this site, just bought a new 2021 Silverado LT Trail Boss a few weeks ago. One of the first things I am doing to this truck is upgrading the few halogen bulbs that GM decided to keep on it. The Rear backup and license plate lights all went super smooth, no issue. But when I went to remove the front blinker bulb from the housing I was faced with a different configuration than what I've seen. The place where you would normally find the circular grip for twisting out the bulb has a small hex head there in place, and it does not look to actually come apart (Please see attached picture). I think that I might have a different blinker than what normally comes with this trim (and I think it may already be LED) but I am unable to find anything online that resembles or mentions this configuration. I am only able to find the typical bulb backing which does not match mine. Does anyone have insight to this or possibly know what kind of blinker I have? I have included a picture of the back of the blinker as well as the light housing itself as I think it too looks slightly different than others I have seen. Thanks in advance!
  19. Hey all, I recently had a 7.5in vertex lift installed on my 2011 Silverado by a very reputable shop. Truck looks awesome but my mpgs took a major hit. Only fill up with premium. I know trucks aren’t known for stellar gas mileage but going from 15/18 to ~11 mpg is a killer. Truck specs: - 5.3L with Diablo afm disabler used to prevent oil consumption (it works). - 18x8.5 in wheels with 275/65 duratracs (nitrogen inflated). 2in spacers all around. - K&N air filter. - new plugs and wires with ~30k miles on them. - flowmaster super 44 dual exhaust. I’ve cleaned the throttle body and MAF. Hooked up my obd II and no codes. Other than removing the lift what can I do? Thanks in advance!
  20. I am looking to add an elevated idle feature to my 2018 Chevy sliverado 3500 duramax Dually. My truck is currently not set up with the pto feature. I currently idle my truck for about an hour a day and I am wanting to add an elevated idle to get my truck to operating temp faster to prolong the life of my truck. What are y’all adding to the truck for aftermarket parts to achieve this since the dealer is saying it’s not possible with gm parts. What else are y’all running for tuners to increase mpg that will work great with a fully deleted truck.
  21. GM OEM TRI-MODE POWER BOARDS FOR SALE FOR 2019-2020 modeL SIERRA AND SILVERADO trucks. great shape. Minor scratches. Only on The original vehicle for a couple months. SHIPPING FROM NEW ORLEANS PRICE = $900 + shipping cost
  22. I have 2014 Silverado and went to the gas station one morning and out of nowhere started smelling gas inside of the truck. Long story short, went to look underneath truck and had a 3x3 ft size puddle of fuel underneath truck on ground. Looked to see where it was coming from and looks like it’s coming from back side of motor. Can anyone help or recommend any action to take from this?
