  1. Does anyone know how to turn off the seatbelt chime in a 2016 GMC Sierra truck. and please don't say buckle your seat belt. Thanks.
  2. So the other day i got in the truck and it was dead. Jumped it and good to go. About 3 days later same thing. Once it started I got in the truck and realized none of the lights were working. Headlights, overhead lights, even the dash lights wouldn’t come on. I’ve learned in the past it usually is the TBC fuse. So I pull it. Bam it’s blown. Easy fix… so I thought. I went to put another fuse in and it blows the second it makes contact. Even 30a fuses blow instantly. I know it goes directly to the BCM on my year model and I’ve inspected wires all over my truck and I cannot find a wire that’s grounding out. I dont know if this is a coincidence but I also noticed that my switch button unlock/lock will locks both sides, but when I hit the unlock it only unlocks the passenger side, and the driver side does not make any noise.. so it’s not even attempting… i’ve checked all the driver lock and unlock fuses, and everything is fine. I even swapped them out just to be safe. I even pulled the door off and check the wires to go to the actuator and everything looked good. The real question is is it a chance that was going on with my locks is causing the same issue with the TBC fuse?
  3. Need to find this part
  4. Truck started to make a squeaking noise this weekend, took it to the dealership on Monday. Dealership called Tuesday and said that they could not find anything wrong with the truck and that this sound is normal. Take a look at this video so that you can hear and understand what I am talking about. https://youtu.be/aERzjGAX-aU Does this sound normal to you guys? I also put water on the belt and the noise was persistent so it does not appear to be the belt. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  5. What is this haha
  6. I purchased a 2023 2500hd LTZ DURAMAX in January. Truck drove and handled great until a few days ago. The other day I started feeling the rear end wandering and swaying on me. Anything over 65 is an accident waiting to happen because it can get all over the place. Noticed that if I shake my driver side rear wheel it clicks loudly. Checked lugs and everything else for tightness and everything is tight. Truck now has 25,000 miles it and up until 3 days ago was perfect. Any ideas or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. 20230922_203351_1.mp4

  8. I had just finished installing my cam and put everything back together but as soon as I go to turn on the truck it won’t turn on it just cranks and a lot of smoke starts coming out of the engine. At first i thought it was some oil that had spilled on the headers or on the block. But i don’t know what to do please help
  9. I've been wanting to install longtube headers on my 2007 sierra classic for awhile and now that I've noticed that the OEM exhaust manifold is cracked and one stud is broken I think it's the time to do so. Just wondering what info i should know before doing so. Do I need to have it tuned? I currently have a cold air intake, throttle body spacer and cat back exhaust but that's pretty much it.
  10. Hello guys, looking to just level my 2016 chevy silverado z71. Is the best way to do spacers or to do like a bilstein 5100 shocks? Am guessing spacers are the cheaper way. Is there any other options besides belstein shocks? Thanks for any info!
  11. Ok, I want to come back to the GMC/Chevy family. For over 20 years, I owned a 98 GMC Suburban, putting over 230k miles on it myself and LOVED the truck. I too owned a 2003 Chevy 1500...put many miles on it too. I am looking at the GMC/Chevy 2500 series diesel trucks. I will stay within the 2016-2019 year range, with about $35k plus'ish budget. I might look at the 2021 trucks, only due to many deals/rebates etc. What suggestions or tips are out there for these trucks? What should I watch out for and/or look at getting? So, a few years ago, I bought a 2015 Ram 1500 4x4 EcoDiesel Lonestar -- well, I have been disappointed with Chrysler/Fiat (FCA). Short story, they lied about the ecodiesel, and after forced recall ECM update, they sucked all performance etc., from the truck. When I had my suburban, I never had so many recalls, been lied to, and never had poor performance. Thanks, for any suggestions that you will provide. Gary
  12. How many miles to get out of a 14 Sierra slt 4x4 5.3L? Currently 118k , try to take best care as much as possible
  13. I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4. A/c has been out for over 2 years had a bad compressor never got around to fixing it. Today I replaced the compressor, condenser, accumulator, orifice tube, and flushed all lines. Took it up to my buddy at the dealership and we charged it up. Put it under vacuum for a bit and no leaks. Drove home about 12 miles no problems blew ice cold. Left to go to the store about 2 hours later started it up the ac button was on but clutch wasn’t engaged and ac blowing warm. Turned the button off then back on clutch engaged and blew ice cold. About 10-15 seconds clutch disengages blows hot cycle the button again blows cold again. Every 10 seconds or so it blows hot and I have to cycle the ac button on the dash again get cold air. I know the compressor clutch should cycle on and off that’s normal but I don’t think it should be that frequent and you shouldn’t feel that significant of a temperature change right? And when it cycles off it doesn’t come back on unless you cycle the button. I’m thinking a issue with the low pressure switch on the accumulator but any advice?
  14. Hello everyone. I've been looking for a raptor style grille for my '14 silverado 1500. I see ones online that I like but I can only find them for the 16-18 models. They have the 3 amber led's on top and "CHEVROLET" fairly large across the middle. For these, you can find them for 120-175 dollars. The only raptor style grills I've found for the 14-15 chevy have the amber lights but no chevrolet across the front. I've also seen grills with chevrolet across the front but don't have any lights AND they cost 500-700 dollars and at that point, I would just stick to the stock grill. Anyone have any ideas on where I could find this? or ways that I could maybe buy the blank grill with the lights and buy lettering somewhere separately and somehow attach them to the grill? I've attached 3 pictures. The first one is what I want but it's not the right year. Second is what I can find for my year and 3rd is the one with no lights, but has lettering across middle for 600 dollars. Any advice would be awesome!
  15. Zane: The 2.8L Duramax is an engine that will extend the capability of the Colorado and Canyon to within a stone's throw of the full-size Silverado and Sierra. From the moment you turn the key, there’s no mistaking this as a diesel engine. Noticeably louder than GM’s other gas engine offerings, owners will probably enjoy that their pickup sounds remarkably similar to the bigger 6.6L Duramax V8. In our short drive time we were impressed by the massive amounts of low end torque for a vehicle of this size. 369 lb-ft of torque at only 2,000 rpm goes a long way. However, with only 181-horsepower, the Canyon 4x4 crew cab we drove didn’t feel as quick as its 3.6L gas-powered counterpart. Point the nose of the GMC up a steep hill and the Duramax diesel’s benefits are immediately apparent. Nothing is going to stop this truck once it gets moving and you feel like the hand of God has your back. Acceleration is smooth and linear through the entire engine range. That’s the experience diesel truck buyers want and GM has given it to them. Bolder, louder and purposeful in nature. Oh and did we mention fuel economy? Prepare to be impressed. We saw over 30 mpg on our drive loop. GM executive Mark Reuss confirmed to us that the final EPA number should be very close to our results. That would place the Colorado and Canyon has the most fuel efficient trucks you could buy. No wonder GM is exploring options to increase the number of Colorado and Canyon it can build. John: What struck me first was the great look of the Canyon. Particularly from the front ¾ view. I had just left off-road testing in a 2016 Tacoma and in terms of looks, the Canyon wins hands-down. My tester was a $45,280 SLT Crew Cab with 4WD. Trucks are expensive now, but this one had it all. Premium Bose audio and Nav ($500), Spray in bedliner ($475) and Chrome assist steps ($725). I was impressed that the Canyon had Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Alert at no extra charge. That will cost you $500 on a Tacoma. The biggest single adder was the $3,730 Duramax engine. Although that buys a lot of gasoline, the Duramax has benefits beyond fuel economy to its fans. Hills surrounded the venue we were attending, and they were steep. Like Zane, I was immediately impressed by how strong the Canyon I drove felt. I too noted the fuel economy. Over the past 50 miles that it had been driven in rural NY the vehicle had averaged 22.2 MPG and its peak had been 34.5 MPG (according to the truck). Writers at this event were passing up track time in a Corvette to drive the Canyon on-road. It was one of the most popular vehicles at the event. The new Canyon and Colorado Duramax will not disappoint. GM is proud of this new truck, and as Zane’s interview with Mark Reuss proves, GM is looking hard for places to build more. The Canyon Duramax looks, drives, and acts like a winner.
