  1. Thought I'd post a review of the newly installed suspension and wheel set up on my 2016 GMC Sierra Denali 1500. Previous set up was stock MagneRide suspension with ride height sensors and 22" stock wheels with Nitto Terra Grappler G2's size 285/45r22. I'm at 70k miles and the ride was steadily getting worse (too stiff), so I researched for a while and ended up installing the following: HaloLifts Boss Ultimate Kit (adjustable coilovers for 1" to 3" of lift in front, and 1" of lift in the rear) - http://www.halolifts.com/HaloLifts-Boss-Ultimate-Kit-fits-your-2007-UP-GM-SilveradoSierra-1500_p_220.html Stock GMC Sierra 18" rims (powder coated black) with Falken Wildpeak AT3W's size 275/70r18 Bypass sensor kit for all 4 MagneRide shock sensors and all 4 ride height sensors (I removed all ride height sensors that are mounted to the frame) - http://www.xineering.com/shocksims.html Up first, the HaloLifts Boss Ultimate Kit At $1299, this is a more expensive kit vs the Fox, Bilstein, or Rancho equivalant. What swayed me to this kit was that I was not looking for a crazy lift and I wanted something that was plug and play should I go a different route once these start to fail (like all shocks eventually do). Additionally, I found multiple reviews on this forum and other brand forums where people said they had installed Fox, Bilstein, and/or other brands and this was the best riding kit and worth the extra cash. You'll find a rep from the company, Alex, who's posted in this forum, as well as others, and he says call him with any questions. I did, and he answered every time and would not let me go until I had EVERY question answered. The customer service is outstanding with this place. I ended up going with the coilovers set at 1.5" of lift and I put .5" spacers beneath it to get 2" of total lift and the softest ride possible. Each kit is made custom to what you want, so that's how it arrived for me. You can have the coilovers set at 2" if you want, then add 1" of spacers underneath. Since I am only doing 2" of lift, I did not purchase new UCA's. Below are pics of me opening the packages. Again, thoroughly impressed with how sealed everything was with plenty of foam and cardboard to protect everything. Install was a breeze, thanks to instructions that were included and my convo with him over the phone. One last thing, the "do the rear shock boots go down or up?" debate has been settled. According to HaloLifts they go down :-) Next, the new wheel/tire set up I downsized from a 22" set up to an 18" set up so I could get more sidewall and a softer ride. While I like the look of a larger rim, it was so easy to get scratches on the 22" rims since they are so close to the ground and there's not enough sidewall on the tire to bulge out a little bit to help protect the rims. So, new set up gets me a softer ride and better rim protection. I went with a stock rim and had it powder coated black because I've had mixed experience with aftermarket rims (good and bad). As far as the tire choice, Falken Wildpeaks kept coming up as best all around value for it's performance. I've had KO2's in the past, as well as other AT tires but I wasn't blown away by their performance for how much you spend on them. Falken's were cheaper, but hold up well in rain, snow, and mud. Plus they have an aggressive look, that's a nice bonus. Below are pics of the truck with the new wheel and suspension set up. I'll follow that up with the obligatory, "pardon the dirty truck, haven't had time to wash it". Last, the MagneRide bypass kit This only applies to those who have the MagneRide suspension and ride height sensors (certain trims like Denali). If you do have it, you'll need to bypass the sensors or you'll forever be dismissing a message that says "service suspension system". If you can live with that, then ignore all of this. If it'll drive you nuts, you have 2 options - one cheap, but could lead to other issues and the other is not so cheap, but will not have issues. There are 8 sensors total, 4 shock sensors and 4 ride height sensors. The first option is to go cheap and buy 8 resistors (3 ohm, 25 watts). You then splice them in at every sensor. The risk here is corrosion, if you don't seal the splices properly this leads to the wire harnesses going bad and having to purchase all new harnesses and resistors to do all of the work again (and now you've spent more money on the harnesses). In all, this could run you about $50 for resistors, heat shrink, and a heat gun. The second option is to do what I did and buy the professional bypass kit from x-ineering. It's $425, but they'll give you a $75 discount if you post about your install on social media. I went this route because they clip in and seal the wiring, just like the stock sensors. No risk of corrosion and everything they make is backed by warranty. Overall, I'm super happy and love the ride. Only a couple hundred miles on it so far, I'll report back after all my Thanksgiving travel coming up (1500+ miles). Let me know if there are any questions!
  2. As the title says, post your long travel set up with the who and why! I'm tired of not being able to find long travel builds to copy off of. Custom or bolt on, doesn't matter. Post pictures of the before and after glass sides if you got them. If a thread like this already exists please share below or if you have a thread for your build. Hopefully this gets some serious attention for the full size community, the Toyotas get all the long travel attention.
  3. Thanks to all that contribute to the forums - I’ve found so much info in here that has helped. I’m about to install a CST 4.5” lift and I need a few torque specs. CST doesn’t provide hardly any and when I compared torque specs from similar BDS or ReadyLift kits they seemed to be way off from the OEM torques I found. I did my best to find most of the torque values but wanted to have someone verify them for me. ive verified some of the front suspension torques from other parts of this forum but here’s the ones I want to double check. - Steering Rack Mounting Bolts: 162 ft/lbs (drivers side), 74 ft/lbs (passenger side) - Front Diff mounting: 75 ft/lbs - front driveshaft yoke retaining bolts: 18 ft/lbs - front axle nut: 188 ft/lbs (seems like a lot!) - Sway bar bushing bracket: 37 ft/lbs - swat bar end links: 17 ft/lbs - tie rod spindle: 26 ft/lbs + 85*-100* - front brake caliper bracket: 170 ft/lbs not sure what yall have torqued the lower subframe crossmembers to but I think BDS does 125 ft/lbs so that’s what I was probably gonna do. thanks everyone!
  4. Finally got around to installing the Eibach 2.0 Pro Kit. Not a bad install but since I also installed the Trail Boss half shafts and Cognito UCA's it took me 5 hrs. So far I love it. The ride is so much better and the front end doesn't bottom out going over speed bumps like it did before. To me it was well worth it and since the shops around here wanted $1,200 to install it, I figured I could save some cash. I have new wheels for it and getting new Toyo Open Country ATIII's tomorrow. I got 47k out of the factory Bridgstones. I also installed a 2" block in the back.
  5. I have a 2022 Silverado 1500 four-wheel-drive. The dealer ordered the 2 inch lift kit they offer and I’m waiting for it to come in and have it installed. But I noticed that the kit doesn’t come with upper control arms. Is that going to be a problem? (***UPDATE*** ) so I had the factory lift gm offers installed. When I picked it up, it looked great but as soon as I went to drive it off the lot. I could tell something was wrong it felt completely different. I figured it was just a break in period. But even after a day or two, I was getting crazy bad vibration at low speeds. Took it back. They ended up putting one of the U-bolts on wrong (I have pictures if wanted) they fix that and told me the vibration was gone. I get my keys go to drive away vibrations right back. I turn right back around. this time they have a mechanic ride with me. He clearly hears an feels a vibration, says somethings wrong so we turned around and he takes it back in. Three hours later they bring my truck back they had to remove the back blocks said there was no taper to them and it was messing up drive line. I got it back and the vibration is still there. (Now annoyed that only the front is lifted and still vibrating). I have them take the whole lift kit off. Put it back to stock. (Now remind you my truck has been down and I’m missing work for 5 days at this point) And after that Whole ordeal, I was done with the truck since I couldn’t have it how I wanted it and decided to trade it in and they made me a good deal on a 2023 5.3 LT.z71 I know many have gotten this lift installed said it worked out for some reason it did not for me. I’m much happier with the new truck.

So I was wondering what is the best quality lift for the money under $2000 for my 2018 silverado since i plan on buying it at the end of my lease and i always plan way tooooo far in advance for things like this. So here is my idea. I have dropstar 655bm 20X10 -25 offset on 33x12.5 toyo RTs on my truck leveled 2 inches at the moment but as soon as i fully purchase the truck i want to fit 37s. Although the 8 inch BDS and SuperLift say they can fit only 35s ive seen plenty of guys running 14 wide -72 offset on 35x15.5 tires on a 8 inch lift and fit so why cant i get a 37x12.5 on my 10 wide. So what lift would you guys go with in my situation. Im mainly looking at the mcgaughys 7-9, BDS 8inch, Superlift 8 inch. What one do yall think is gonna be my best bet. Thank You.
  7. I was just curious as to whether people ran spacers after they did their lifts. I have read that you need a 1.5" spacer on the rear after adding a 4.5" lift to compensate for the front track width being wider.

  9. Does anyone have experience with belltech lift kits? I've seen plenty of positive reviews from their lowering kits. They've been in the suspension industry for a while, just not so much the trail or lift side. Long travel is the end goal, but a $700 coilover kit with a 5 yr warranty vs an extended strut sounds more functional. I'm considering the adjustable 3-4" lift coilovers, part #15203. -Helper spring -60mm damper body -35mm independent valves -20mm piston rod I've got a 2020 z71 with the 3.0 Duramax for those needing an image to work with. Still exploring UCA options. 35*12.5r17 will be the tire size. Probably going to order them next month.
  10. I’m looking for the best 6 inch lift for this truck. I talked to a local suspension shop for an install and they spooked me on Rough Country - they stopped installing them due to poor quality and many after install problems. would very much appreciate any and all input - truck is a brand new build and I want to do it right.
  11. I just completed a 6-inch suspension lift on a 2019 Suburban Premier 4x4. The Adaptive Cruise control keeps stating "Temporarily Unavailable". What do I need to do? Recalibrate the radar box behind front bumper? Relocate the radar box? Is there any way to bypass the radar system and have standard cruise control??? Thank you for your help!
  12. I haven't seen anyone with official numbers. displaying the height of our trucks so I decided to pull it in the garage and measure up a couple of points. Keep in mind, this is a 2019 Trail Boss Custom, Z71, Crew Cab, Standard Bed, with ~3000miles. Everything is completely stock and the tank was 95% full. I measured the following heights; - all 4 corners(at the fender) measured at the center of the wheel - front diff (lowest point) - rear diff (lowest point) - front shroud/bumper (lowest point) I've taken the measurements twice, once SETTLED and once UNSETTLED. To better define the terms, the settled measurements were taken by simply driving the truck in the garage, and measuring. I weigh around 200lbs ( seems to matter as there was a little lean tot he driver side). The unsettled measurements were taken by, lifting the vehicle, front and back, just to the point where the tires were off, then slowly letting the jack down and removing it. SETTLED Measurements; DS front - 39 1/4" DS rear - 41 3/8" PS front - 39 1/2" PS rear - 41 3/8" front diff - 13" rear diff - 9" bumper - 13 5/16" UNSETTLED Measurements; DS front - 39 7/8" DS rear - 41 1/2" PS front - 40 1/8" PS rear - 41 3/8" front diff - 13 3/8" rear diff - 9" bumper - 14" I've added all the pictures to this gallery ----> I've attached a couple of critical photos I think everyone should be aware of.
  13. Does anyone know of a kit that will let me lift my truck WITHOUT leveling it? I mostly drive down the highway so I'm not interested in levelling the truck and sending my MPG down the gutter even worse than it already is (I average 16-17 with stock suspension, 275/55/R20 Cooper Discoverer SRX, KN washable engine air filter) but when I go hunting I will sometimes need to cross fallen trees or go over shrubbery that loves to get caught up in the undercarriage. I'm trying to leave the stock rake on the truck but gain an additional inch or two clearance. All the kits I see for lifting the truck also level it. Am I going to have to do the math myself and grab X front suspension kit and Y rear block kit so that both raise approximately the same distance? Also, if I'm able to get an extra inch of height I wonder what size tire I'd be able to fit then. I like the BFG K02s but wonder if I'd be able to squeeze the 275/65s to fit without cutting or even the 285/65s (only difference between the two is an additional 1/2 inch in diameter).

  19. Hello everyone, I've been lurking on the forums for the past few months and decided to finally post some of my questions. I'm new to the truck world, always had a car/suv up until I bought my 2014 Sierra Denali last fall. I love the truck so far, zero complaints - BUT I want to add my own touches to it this summer. I've been looking into getting into some mods over the summer months and found a set of 22x14 wheels that I really like. My question for all the wheel/suspension guys here is 1) what would I need to modify on my truck in order to get these to fit? If I need a lift, what's the minimum I can get away with? 2) what would be the optimal tire size?
  20. I get it, I'm an idiot who should search the forum. As much as I accept this, I have searched the forum and I completely suck at it because I can't find what I'm looking for. Initially, all I wanted to do was just level my truck. However, after purchasing a leveling kit that gets placed on the bottom of the strut, I read a ton of reviews saying they suck because they put stress on the control arms, so I returned the kit. Since I like the look of the AT4, I figured I'd look at 2-3" suspension lift kits and discovered there are some that aren't that expensive, so now I'm pretty set on going this route. My question is-- do these lift kits also level the truck, and if not, will doing so put the same stress on the control arms as leveling it with the stock suspension? Clearly, my idiocy stretches far beyond searching ****** on this forum... I was planning to go with Bilstein shocks anyway and found this kit online. Does anyone know if this will also level my truck? I was also looking at this 3" Superlift that comes with Bilsteins, it's more expensive, but if it does more of what I'm looking for, I'm down. Call me an idiot, I'm married, so I'm used to it. Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers!
  21. I'm looking too lift my 2016 4x4 3.5 inches. Will a 33x12.5r18 fit without rub? May trim liner back but no metal as the truck is brand new. If not what is the largest alternative size?
  22. Welcome to my build! Started with a 2019 Silverado 1500 LTZ 4wd 5.3L, which I bought with 9k miles on her in August of 2020. Got a crazy good deal on it, justified me driving to Georgia from Houston to pick it up. It even came with the Ranch Hand front bumper on it already, other than that she was stock. Little bit of background on my past trucks, I've been fortunate to own quite a few: 07 JK Wrangler, 08 Silverado 1500 LT Z71, 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Z71, 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT w/ 6.2L, 2016 Denali 2500 Duramax, 2017 Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71, and finally my 2019 Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71. I also have my 2015 ZL1 Camaro for a little bit of fun on the side, my wife has gone off to German side and is rocking her Porsche Cayenne. So here's the current list of mods: 4" Zone Lift kit w/ Fox rear shocks 35x11.50's Nitto Terra Grapplers on stock 20's Front and back Ranch Hand bumpers Hooker Blackheart Cat-back exhaust utilizing factory dual tips K&N Series 63 cold air intake Rough Country Automatic drop down steps Camlocker Tool box Front windows tinted to match back factory tint Front windshield tint strip Chevy All-Weather floor liners Stubby antenna Just went on a shopping spree of sorts and this is what I've got on order: Boost auto parts auto fog mod Putco Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar w/ Putco wiring harness All LED bulbs; replacing turn signals, license plate lights, and reverse lights. And the GRAND finale, King 2.5 PRS coilovers The list of things to come in the near future: High Country cluster from White Audio and Media, had their Tahoe cluster in my 2017 and it was fantastic! Waiting to order the rear King Resi PRS shocks until my checkbook bounces back a little bit. Lol Going to be putting on several LED light bars and maybe a pod or two, going to do my best to blend them into the Ranch Hands and make them as non conspicuous as possible. I'm strongly considering doing a Dyno tune w/ Kooks long tubes as well. Going to be doing ceramic tint all the way around. Limo on back windows and back glass, 15% on front windows, and 35% on the front windshield. I've got a drop in plastic bed liner that drives me crazy, so I'll more than likely go ahead and get the bed sprayed. Things I'm considering: Looking into changing up the rims and trying to clear 37's when the time comes for new tires. Blacking out the badges? Still not sold on this one... Turbo or a supercharger kit? This one would be way down the line though. Anything else that catches my attention, let me know if you can come up with anything! Here is the truck from stock:
  23. Forgive me if this question has been discussed but I could not find anything with a search. I have a 21 Trail Boss that I want to lift 4" for a total of 6" to fit 35's. I have been looking for awhile now at the available lifts specific to the Trail Boss and AT4 and have narrowed it down to two... The BDS 1805H strut spacer lift with UCA's. https://bds-suspension.com/product?kid=1805H And Rough Country 27550 with their Vertex damping adjustable coilovers. https://www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-27530c.html The cost of the kits are within a couple hundred dollars of each other. I have watched all the reviews I could find on the Vertex coilovers and they seem to be good. I like the idea of them but I understand they can't be rebuilt so if they fail out of warranty I would have to replace them. Add to that the general sentiment that Rough Country in general isn't necessarily the greatest in terms of quality makes me very uncomfortable putting the kit on my truck. BDS on the other hand has great reviews and a stellar warranty but I only get a strut spacer lift with new UCA's that retains the factory coilover with the Rancho shocks. What are your thoughts, opinions and or experiences? Your input is much appreciated!
  24. Good morning everyone, I recently purchased a 2018 GMC Sierra Crew Cab SLT All-Terrain package. I'm personally wanting to install a leveling kit and I believe I've selected one. I've read a lot about leveling kits for 2017-18 trucks and this seems like a great kit. However, there isn't many reviews on this product by ReadyLift. The appeal of this lift is the UCA replacements and the <2" height it allows. I'm wanting to go with 305/55/20 or 285/60/20 tires with my stock AT wheels and I want as much clearance possible. I found maybe 2-3 members on here with this lift and I'll quote them below. My question is, will this work with my All-Terrain package? In the description of the kit it states, "Will not work on Z71 packaged vehicles with factory Rancho® struts." Yet on ReadyLift's website, there is nothing supporting that statement. Does anyone have any information or review for this kit? Thanks!
