  1. So I have recently purchased a Range AFM disabler for my 2017 Silverado 1500 E-assist because of the constant stopping and starting at stop lights, exhaust drone from V4, weird shifting from V4 to V8 and my transmission liking to jerk/shifting hard every so often. After installing the Range device, it has solved my transmission issues, disabled stopping and starting at stop lights, and has been keeping it in V8 mode 24/7! The only thing I have noticed is that when I am decelerating from a speed of around 50 MPH or more, the engine will have a fast repetitive backfiring popping sound until i either get back on the gas pedal or have reached a speed of 35 MPH. It seems to happen when i am decelerating slowly and not fast, starts to backfire when it starts to downshift at around 900-1100 RPMs I have a flowmaster Super40 cat-back dual 2.5 inch exhaust with the third "cat" still on. It used to not backfire when the AFM was active BUT when decelerating, it would switch back into V4 mode. is there a way to fix this? Is there too much freeflowing exhaust? Can this backfiring through the exhaust cause any damage if left unfixed? Thanks, -Hunter
  2. I got a 2018 GMC Sierra with the eassist package. I never thought of this thing as a hybrid but GMC does classify it as such. One of the digits in the VIN specifies that distinction. I also recently picked up a Hypertech Max Energy 2 because I liked the options it provides for the AFM, specifically the speed at which it operates. The Hypertech didn't work, says the truck is not supported. A call to their tech support confirmed that the issue was the fact that the truck is a hybrid and they do not support that. So my question for the forum is, anyone know of a tuner that is supported on this "hybrid" pickup? From reading sites of other tuners it doesn't look like anyone makes this distinction of hybrid. I can return the Hypertech so a trial & error approach of purchasing another tuner and seeing if it would work is possible, but time consuming and annoying. Thanks in advance for help or suggestions.
  3. So I just bought a GMC Sierra with eAssist. I need all weather floor mats but I can't seem to determine which ones to order for this truck. WeatherTech doesn't seem to know if there is a difference or not. I have been told that there is. Can anyone help me find a set of black all weather mats for the eAssist crew cab?
  4. Hey there I am a proud owner of a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. The issues I wanted to discuss is the new technology in the truck. What I'm referring to is the E assist system. Only 500 of these were released in California, I own one and love my truck but I believe this system is making the truck drive weird. I'm not sure if it's because it's trying to improve fuel economy or just faulty but when I am coming to a stop I can feel a clunk almost like I was rear ended, I can also feel it when taking off and it's annoying. I wanted to see if any of you have had similar problems in your truck and any advise you had or your experience. I brought this issue to the dealer twice and both times they found issues but none with the e assist system or transmission they claim. I have posted a link to a video of what happened on my last experience to my local dealer. Thanks for any help.
  5. Hi, I'm new to this form so hopefully I'm doing this correctly. I have a 2017 Silverado with a 5.3 L V8 that also has eassist. I was looking in to different types of Mufflers I could get and I really like the Super 40 with dual output, but when I went to a Midas, they said that since my truck has a hybrid option installed that an aftermarket exhaust would sound horrible and not a big difference in sound volume. I was told that the Super 40 from Flowmaster would not be too loud but also not too soft. Has anyone tried a different muffler on a S Eassist Silverado before? And does a Super 40 sound too loud or just right? Something that would turn heads when your next to someone but not turn heads blocks away. Thanks!
  6. I have a 2017 silverado with a 5.3l v8 E Assist and have been looking at different accessories for the truck. To make sure that the parts will fit I would need to select either 5.3L GAS or 5.3L FLEX FUEL or 5.3L GAS/ELECTRIC Is the E Assist engine considered just a gas engine or a Gas/Electric engine? I KNOW for sure that the truck is not a Flex Fuel Thanks!
