Hey all, I'm new to this forum so if I'm not in the correct section or have done something in the wrong, just point me in the right direction. I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 and I've seen a few topics on here regarding a front end swap between the 14-15 body style and the 16-19 body style but none have really helped that much. I was hoping to get a new topic going for people wanting to do this in the future that contained more helpful information on the whole process. Now, I have done some research to see what would need to be done, and I've found that it in fact IS possible HOWEVER, if you want to do this, you have to replace the whole front end including bumper, grille, headlights, and hood. You can't just do it piece by piece because the lines wont match up. For those who have done this, is my though process correct and is it pretty much a seamless transition when swapping everything out? Meaning all bolt holes, etc. line up when switching a 14-15 front end with a 16-19 front end? If anyone has done this swap, please share your process!

I’m trying to install new front end parking sensors to my 2016 GMC Sierra like @pgamboa on his YouTube video. Only not sure what todo with the front bumper, I’m trying to save money and not have to buy a new one with the sensor holes since mine current one is in excellent condition. Does anybody know how can I get the layout for the holes for exact placement and size? I figured I can drill them out myself but I’ve already looked everywhere online and can’t find anything on this. My last option would be go find a truck and physically measure them out, can anyone help?

I'm posting the factory service manuals for GMC/GM 2007-2009 trucks as there are a ton of questions around specs and trouble shooting. This manual covers everything you need to trouble shoot and all the specs you need to rebuild/repair your truck.

Hello everyone, I recently bought this clean title, high mileage 2000 Silverado LS Z71 from my coworker. It was right before Christmas and I really wanted to help the guy out knowing full well I could do something with it. Heck, I needed a truck after all. I get home and attempt to drain the oil but nothing comes out. After some poking around with a screwdriver, I get it to drain. Chunks are flowing along with the oil and it turns out there was so much sludge build up in the bottom of the pan, it sucked some up, suffered a momentary loss of oil pressure and spun the bearing. I know the transmission had a hard shift from first to second. Could it be low fluid? Maybe, but why do the swap just to find out the transmission is bad? My coworker friend was a smoker and it appears he preferred his coffee without a lid so the interior is....interesting. Also truck only has oxidation on the hood and fenders so the only reasonable choice was to find a salvaged donor vehicle to source parts from!! I have a buddy with a dealers license and I'm debating picking up this rear ended 2006 Escalade for a FULL front end/interior/dash/drivetrain swap. Can it be done? Plug and play? Anything someone doing something like this should know? I've done some pretty crazy engine swaps and garage rebuilds, 2 stroke porting early on, etc. I have the ability but hopefully you folks can chime in and confirm whether or not it is possible or if there is a better option. I was also looking at a 2004 Duramax/6speed which was t-boned pretty good as a potential candidate but there's something about that plush Escalade interior....

Okay, I’m brand new to the forum and wanted to jump right in. Basically, I am currently looking for a salvage title Silverado with front or rear end damage (rebuildable) so that I can have a short term rebuild project. I’m going through copart and can currently find 14-18 Silverados with said damage for around $8,000 to about $14,000. Essentially I want to know if anyone’s has rebuilt the front or rear end after a collision and what all it entails. GM apparently has detailed plans (for which I’ve yet to find) of a repair and replace method which makes it easier to repair post collision frames. http://www.repairerdrivennews.com/2015/03/24/gm-details-remove-and-replace-methods-for-chevrolet-silverado-collision-repair/ That’s the link I found describing the repair and replace method. Sorry if this has already been asked, I’m still learning to navigate the forum so don’t be too harsh! Any information would be greatly appreciated!

So I was driving by my local dealership and saw this z71 white beauty with black front in. I want to swap out my chrome for the black. Does anybody want to trade or know where I can buy a "kit" or pieces to do this mod?

I'm new here and I've been trying to diagnose my '14 Sierra issue for a while. It sounds just like a blown drivers side front strut when I hit bumps at low speeds, almost like a "plop" sound. If I'm on a washboard road it almost sounds like a rattle on the inside. I took to the dealership roughly a year ago and they confirmed I had a bad strut and replaced, but now it's back. Recently, I put a 2.5" RC leveling kit and 33" BFG's on it and within a week I began hearing the exact same noise as before with strut but there is no fluid visible. I crawled underneath and checked everything involved with lift. I happened to grab the CV axle and it has both torsional and tensional slop. My Question: What is an acceptable amount of torsional and tensional play or slop in a CV joint on these trucks? My truck currently has roughly .0625"-.125" play in both directions. Also, my CV shaft has less than .0625" clearance from the bolt head on lower strut. Is that normal?

I have a 99 Silverado with over 200,000 miles. for about 75,000 miles the truck has vibrated like the tires out of balance. I have had the tires balanced every month and the problem is still there. It starts about 35-40 mph and the faster I go the worst it is. I live in the desert so it cant be snow or anything like that. I do have oversize tires on it and a 4" suspension lift on it also, but it is a 2 X4. My tires are not wearing even but I took the truck to the dealer for an alignment. I have no idea what is can be.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I have an 05 Silverado Crew Cab 4WD 5.3L engine. I have an extremely loud popping/snapping noise coming from my front drivers side axle when I drive at low speeds in the driveway. I've been scared to drive it at higher speeds so I'm not sure what it does when traveling faster. The popping noise seems to happen once every revolution of the wheel. If I go slow, I can feel when it starts to bind and I’ll put it in reverse and it will travel backward a little bit and I can feel it start to bind again. If I give it gas it will travel to the point when it binds and that will be followed by an extremely loud and violent popping noise when it lets loose. I put it up on jacks and the driver’s side will only rotate a small amount and then binds up. The passenger side rotates freely and feels normal. Under the truck I can rotate the front driveshaft freely. I drained the front diff fluid and it looked pretty good with no visible metal shavings. Has anyone had a similar problem and what was the cause? Thanks!!!
