Hey y’all, this is my second post on this forum. I just picked up a 2000 Chevy. 5.3 4l60e (I know shocking) and the guy claimed to have put a rebuilt trans in the truck, well then he claimed it was the second one he put in, in just a couple months. My guess is bad mechanic. Anyways. The trans shifts fine when it’s cold. All gears work perfect (which is when I test drove it) well when the truck warms up (roughly 150-190 when it starts) the trans slips in all gears, UNLESS it’s between 2500-3700 rpm. It grabs good then. I noticed it because I’ll start going from a red light, it’ll slip a bit and I’ll have to put more gas into it, and then it hits about 2500 rpm and it’ll grab and take off then when it hits about 3700 rpm it’ll start slipping again. It does this in every gear. At first I was thinking the trans pump thinking it wasn’t getting enough lubrication to all the parts. But then I thought it was low on fluid, well it’s fine on fluid. Then I thought maybe it was the converter because it’s the same one from the first rebuilt trans (supposedly). I’ll drop it off at a shop in a few days. But I’m sure I’m looking at a rebuild? I’m wanting to swap in a 6.0 over the summer, so I’m guessing I should go ahead and have a built one dropped in? Shift kit with vette servos? That’s what I keep hearing to do. Or should I just deal with it for now and wait for it to blow completely and do the whole engine and trans swap at the same time? Sadly I’ll have to pay someone to do it all for me cause I don’t have the tools or space to do it. But this 5.3 is also having “worn out” issues with oil pressure, as it’s the original with 262k on it (with a gasket rebuild on it supposedly). Thanks for the input in advance!!

I have just a hair over 20,000 miles on my 2017 Silverado 4X4. Tires are factory stock and appear to be still in brand new condition other than a little treadwear. Thing is they have crap traction on wet or rainy roads. Is this normal for the factory tires?

Hello there, I am having issues with my truck. It is a 2003 silverado 2500HD 4x4 LT with a 6.0L V8 gas engine and 180,000 miles. Aftermarket components on the truck are a K&N cold air intake, Hypertech max energy power programmer, a 2.5" leveling kit, and 33" tires. It started with the truck randomly stalling when switching to reverse gear when parking, and started back up no problem. This has occurred atleast 4 times and does not happen every time. Another issue that is happening is that when at stops and starting to gain speed, at around 5-10 mph, the truck stutters and has a hard time gaining torque and shifting. I have zero issues at medium to high speeds and it shifts fine but it seems to not like going between gears 1-2 it has issues. I have no lights on the dash and the temperatures are at normal ranges. I have had people suggest that it could be a fuel pump problem and also heard it could be the torque converter. Has anyone had similar issues or know what they would suggest might be the problem or need more information from me please respond.

I have a 2006 Silverado 1500 4.8L with a 6" BDS lift & 35 in. toyo tires w/ 20" rims on the truck (had a bully dog programmer on but had to remove). I just put on iron cross bumpers (front & rear) on the truck, the weight of the bumpers made the truck a little sluggish and made the tranny slip out of 1st gear. The next day I took the truck the truck to a transmission shop and had regained back 1st gear when i started up the truck to drive it to the shop!? Any comments on why and what maybe i should do (change the gear ratio, get another programmer, upgrade tranny) ?; I ended up getting new gears found a calculation that should get you near to what type of ratio you need for your vehicle. I had originally had (factory) 3.42 and r/r with 3.73's.

I am looking for help with my 2007 Gmc sierra 1500 Classic, the transmission had started slipping on me a few days ago, 1st gear works perfect then it gets high rpms and doesn't want to shift into 2nd I have to ease off the throttle with speed to slightly catch either 2nd or third, then even when I'm going 90 kms the rpm is at 3500.. There's slipping going on and it won't shift from 1st to 2nd.. Any Ideas what this could be ? Also my tranny fluid levels were good but the oil smelled burnt.. Thanks
