Hey guys, I have a 2017 Silverado 1500. A month or 2 ago I had to get the transmission replaced, it’s still shifting very odd and just feels off. Jerking when going into certain gears, doesn’t want to shift at times etc. Is there anything I should take care of myself before taking it to the dealership again… this new trans has a 3 year warranty. Sorry that I am not the best at explaining issues like this, so any help is much appreciated

2014 Silverado single cab 8’ bed WT 6 cyl. Just inherited this truck at 96,000 miles and haven’t driven previously so cannot say if instant or has been coming on for a while. So I’m in park and I put it in drive, as I give it gas it will rev up a little bit and then SLAP, POW, sometimes horribly bad and is scary to experience. If you’re making a mental note and put it in drive and wait a couple few seconds and THEN take off slow it’s a minimal feeling. The severity is directly related to how FAST or how high you rev it when you initially accelerate from P to D as well as how LONG you wait until you accelerate from P to D. If you’re not used to doing anything other (like myself) then slapping it in drive and taking off it is humongous loud and entire truck will jerk badly and feels like you just dropped a driveline. I do not think it is tranny related because I have no issues with the transmission itself while driving. No slippage at all and shifts perfectly fine albeit, shifting is to say somewhat jerky and noticeable. What do you all think? Put a notice on the steering wheel reminding me to baby and pamper it and she’ll be fine for many many moons or is it time to rebuild “something”

So I've had my truck now for 2-3 months and it is now sitting at 3295 miles and every now and then it shifts hard or sloppy but i can make it shift hard by flooring it which obviously happens when doing this but the weird part is not flooring it is when i let off the gas and when i come to a stop the downshifts are harsh. Now i know i could be breaking it in but even my father who used it for a week said it should be checked out and he is quite the Chevy enthusiast himself. Is there any known problems with the 6 speed in my truck? its a 2018 double cab lt z71 4x4 with the 5.3l. -edit: it also shifts hard when using manual mode or low whatever you like to call it just putting it out there.

Hello all. I'm in the market for a 1 ton truck from this generation of Chevys. There's one in particular I found somewhat locally, but I'm a bit confused. It's a 4x4 dually, 7.4ltr engine, auto tranny with under 75k miles on the dash. Upon inquiry, the seller sent me additional photos. One of the photos was a close up of the dash. Now, in my findings, the only transmissions available for the 3500 were the standard 4 speed, and the TH400 automatic. However, on the dash, the gear indicator had the 1, 2 , D, and OD (D with the circle around it). Was there another overdrive transmission offered in the 3500 series that I'm mistaken on? The other OD transmissions of the era were the 700r4 and the 2004r, but I wouldn't think they would put either of those into a heavy hauler dually pickup because those were not rated for that kind of duty. It's also my understanding that the 4l80e was not offered until some year after the 1990 model year. I haven't been able to inspect the truck in person yet so I can't check the pan to tell me for sure what's in there. If it's one of the weaker transmissions, I don't know that I want to waste time driving more than an hour away to look at it, unless my perception of those transmissions is incorrect. Anybody have any idea what I'm missing? Otherwise, I'm in this market because I'm looking for a reliable hauler for occasional work purposes, to trailer my project vehicles, and other general utility purposes. Am I on the right track with pursuing something from this lineup?

Ive got a 2007 silverado classic with a 4.8l in it. I got afe cold air, gibson longtube headers, stock cats, dynoflow 3 inch cat back exhaust, and edge cts2 gas programmer. I pull a 4500 pound trailer at least once a month and need more power. I keep getting told to put a cam in to make more power but the truck has 250000km on it. Not dropping a 6.0l in it because people on kijiji are on crack I mean im running premium, changing synthetic oil every 5000km, babying this truck, so is a cam worth it? If so whats the best cam i can put in without changing valves and all that fun stuff? If i put one in a motor with so many miles on it am i risking blowing the motor or tranny? Thanks

ive got an 03 sierra 1500 4.8 4l60e myobd2 reader is showing torque converter clutch circuit/open shift solenoid A and B electrical shift timing solenoid tcc pwm solenoid circuit electrical trans was working fine, was doing routine fluid checks and seen trans was a little low so put about half a quart in (don't think I overfilled it and if I did it wasn't by much). now it doesn't seem to have 1st gear, when I manually shift it I don't feel it shift from 1st to 2nd, I feel it shift from 2nd to 3rd and I don't feel it shift into 4th (55mph tach reads 3000rpm). I put the scanner on it and got the above codes. I haven't pulled the pan off yet to inspect the inside. (plan on doing that this weekend) I did inspect the wiring on the out side and it seems fine. what do you all think, did my wiring on the inside take a dump, or can one solenoid or whatever be effecting all the crap inside the trans. it seems to be just an electrical issue judging by the code reader. thanks for the help and info.

Hey guys. I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado EcoTec3 5.3L Regular Cab and I want to build it to run decent track times. Decent meaning at least 11's. I don't really know much about the 5.3L and I would really like help on what should be done to run times like that. What cam? Intake? TB? Head swap maybe? Will even consider Turbos, supercharger, or a procharger. Also rear gears, will tranny hold up at the torque needed? Can I do this without messing with the bottom end at all? I'm open to anything and everything. The truck will not be driven on the street very much, I work 100+ hrs/wk but I'd find time to take it to the track. Thank you.

hello, first time to chevy, and this forum. I just bought a used k3500 dually with the 454, not sure what the tranny is, I am assuming it is stock (there are no service records). I am haveing a few issues with it. it has 180xxx miles in it. #1. when I am backing up in a stright line, after about 5 feet, the truck seems to bind up then I hear and feel a clunck from the rear end, after that it is perfect. just curious if anyone has any idea on this one? #2. when the engine is cold, and I have let it run for a few mins to warm it up. when I go to take off and driving down the street it will rev up to 4000 rpm, then shift, no matter what I do, once it shifts, it will not shift higher than 2nd. now when that happens I will pull over and turn it off in park, then turn it on, and start driving, and it shifts great, other than that no funny noises, or smells. tranny fluid is good. I really hope it is not a tranny prob, I can do everything but a tranny lol! I realize it is a old truck and I am going to have to put some work into.it, but hopefully not as much as I payed! thanks for your time!
