GM has a massive fleet business and lease business. The company also works hand in hand with rental agencies as a vehicle supplier. This week GM's top executive, Mary Barra announced that GM is launching its own used-car website. Called the Factory Pre-Owned Collection, the new on-line shopping service will give buyers access to thousands of vehicles coming off GM leases, returning from duty in fleets, or from rental car companies GM partners with. GM says the new site offers the following advantages: - Huge inventory of pre-owned, low-mileage vehicles available online - Features easy-to-compare suggested pricing using Kelley Blue Book® Fair Market Range - Extension of GM’s Shop-Click-Drive online shopping service As a used car buyer myself, the first thing I need is a few days to get the car I buy to my mechanic for him to have a close look at it. If there are any unexpected problems I want to be able to bring it back. GM offers exactly that with its three-day, 150-mile exchange program. Buyers also get three months free of On-Star and the full-access Sirius XM package for three months (that means you get Howard, Robin and Babba Booie). GM says shoppers need only follow three simple steps: Browse the inventory to find the vehicle of their choice. Choose a participating GM dealer and reserve their vehicle using the Shop-Click-Drive experience. Finalize their purchase and take delivery of their vehicle from their selected dealer.
