Hey all, so I have a 17 Silverado 5.3. 33000km was driving around yesterday. Truck was at operating temp and trans temp was at 76 so all was good. it was driving fine, then I got home. And backed into my driveway. Parked emptied groceries yadda yadda. 5 minutes later realized I had to pull in. Got in, and did just that. Then 5 minutes later had to run to corner store. This is when the truck started rough and check engine light started blinking and it was like I had no power. ( and when I say rough, it was god awful. Like bucking and lurching) Turned around a parked it. 2 hours later drove it 40km and not an issue. Next morning drive to and from work (7km each way) no issue. some say it can be the anti theft , or dirty injectors or worse clips or plugs. Trucks only got 33k help?!

Hello, New here. I just got a used 2015 Yukon SLT and cannot get both the left and right seat haptic motors to come on at all. I did some checking and disconnected both the left and right motors and applied 12V to them and heard each of them go off just fine. However when i go into the intellilink menu, under vehicle settings, there is no option for me to change the alert type from beep to vibrate. Is this a software update of some kind? I can not find any information about this anywhere.

I have a new 2015 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab Z71 2x4 and i have had it for about a month now after waiting 2 months ordering it. I am hoping someone here can help or possibly provide some insight beyond what I have already been able to figure out. I am getting a pretty strong left to right shake on the freeway that starts almost exactly at 79/80 mph and doesn't go away as i go up. I live in Southern California so 80mph is a pretty standard speed on the freeways here. If no one is in the passenger seat you can see it moving back and forth. I don't feel it at any lower speeds. I have had it to the dealership 3 times so far. 1st time they balanced the tires and it didn't fix it. 2nd time i took the tech on a ride and he said he definitely felt the shake and thinks it is most likely the drive shaft. So i take it the 3rd time and they had it for a week only to find out they only balanced the tires again. They claim to have done the vibration test and couldn't find anything and obviously didn't listen to the tech that was in the car with me. They have since claimed there is no issue and I am basically making it up/ it is a normal shake. Personally, i don't think they even tested it at 80mph because they keep trying to say that since it is over the speed limit they can't test it. I would love to hear them say that to someone who bought the Corvette and had this complaint. I am not an idiot when it comes to cars, i have worked on my own cars for a long time but this is a brand new car that I feel the dealership and Chevrolet/GM should be doing a far better job of insuring it is issue free and SAFE. I do have another scheduled appointment with the dealer set up through Chevy/GM customer service where i will show them the video i recorded with my GoPro that proves at 80 and over its shakes like a massage chair so bad you can't even see the cars/lanes through the window. I love the truck and really want to get this issue fixed but if Chevy keeps denying it and wont stand behind their products I will have to get the lawyers involved and lemon law. If the truck would have came with a disclaimer that you can't drive over the speed limit without it shaking I wouldn't have bought it. I would love to hear if anyone else is having the same issue or any professional mechanics that might have an idea of what it could be. Thanks -
Many people have upgraded the bass in their newer model Chevs/GMC/Caddys and have found that with that comes some new vibrations and rattles associated. Below is a run down how to solve one of those problem areas which is the homelink buttons. Problem: Homelink buttons rattle/buzz/vibrate with bass of stereo Vehicles application: Any with homelink buttons (example vehicle shown is a 2018 Suburban) Test: Turn it up (to 11 if you have to) and listen to your homelink buttons, or if you just lightly touch on them and you feel them very loose and not sturdy, odds are that is a source of one of your new rattles. Solution: Electrical tape and some minor disassembly of the overhead console and homelink buttons. Process: Step 1: Test it to see if you have the issue. I added a 10" sub in the back that now vibrated the homelink buttons on certain frequencies, very annoying. It also did the window switch buttons but that is a different fix although very similar. Tap on the buttons lightly, if they are wobbly and loose then you probably do or will have this problem, or turn the volume up with your favorite bass track and listen to the buttons vibrate. Example Image of this part on 2018: Step 2 (VIDEO): Disassemble the control unit. Here is a great little video on a 2015 Tahoe that is identical procedure to get the panel out that holds the homelink. Video Link: Overhead homelink removal Remember you will need to disconnect plugs before the cover panel will actually come out and DO NOT just pull down hard on the entire overhead console center. There are two screws (phillips on the 2018) retaining the full overhead piece in. Just open the sunglasses holder if you have it and we only need to take down the middle cover plate to perform this fix. Step 3: With the piece out on a workbench you can now disassemble the homelink buttons using a torx bit screw driver. It is very small and there are two screws holding the homelink into the cover/trim plate. Step 4: Is to take any decent vinyl electric tape/felt tape/flocking tape and add it to the trim plate like the below. You can trim the excess if you want to. The goal is to make sure you cover the bulk of the perimeter where the buttons themselves will rest against the cover/trim plate. The addition of two layers of Vinyl electric tape cured the problem I was experiencing. This additional thickness added pressure to the buttons mount tab itself which created a more snug and tight fit, that also made the buttons more rigid in the mount. Step 4: Reassemble the homelink to the cover plate, and then put everything back together in reverse order and you should now be vibration noise free at the home link button spot on your overhead console. Make sure to reconnect all plugs and test function before final pressing of the control plate back into the overhead console. Any questions let me know. I only had electrical tape to perform this task. I have some felt tape and flocking tape on order to do more vibration and rattle killing with the addition of the sub. Below is the two versions of tape I ordered that I will also have on hand other than black vinyl electric tape on this quest for vibration and rattle free music listening. J.V. Hi everyone. Been along time since I've posted about my 2015 vibrator. Well what a story I have for you! I'll make it short n sweet as possible. First the dealership, couple of hiccups but overall really good to me. Second the Gm customer service, very pleasant to talk to......that's all. Third Gm district manager, treated me very well with buyback. 1/16 New 2015 1500 double ltz 6.2 20" vibrated bad from day one! Approx 6-7 months later after 4 sets of tires, alignments etc.. was offered buyback. Ordered a 2017 1500 crew ltz z71 6.2 18" loaded on first order date. ( z71 and 18" highly suggested for least amount of possible vibration problems by DM ) 12/20/16 new truck FINALLY arrives. Stunning, rides amazing. 5/17 4K miles started to notice a little vibration. Could live with it. 6/17 vibration worse, rear end was making odd noise off and on. Rear end locked up several times at very low speeds and just dragged tires. Will leave out all the bs. Rear end was blown. Btw I don't beat on my trucks. GM POLICY.... new model year rebuild only! If 2016 and older new rear end. RFB tires 2 no good. 2 new tires( found out were out of spec to, put on anyways) Rebuilt rear end, 2 new tires truck vibrated worse, rear end made bad clunking noise and all around seemed worse. Didn't want to go through another buyback and was told GM probably won't do it. Traded for 2017 Colorado v6 crew long bed. Surprisingly really like this little truck. Ok you ready.... 207 miles on it, took it on highway, vibrated worse than my first truck. Also noticed whole truck had a slight lean to drivers side. Took service manager for ride and couldn't believe how bad it was. Also measured truck and driver side was shorter. RFB tires, perfect, checked everything, perfect. No bulletins for it. Never had a Colorado vibrate. Nothing he could do about it. Said you got a lemon. He was gonna contact DM. ( I wrote a email to DM in detail of what My family and I have gone through the past year and a half, how much money we have lost, how much stress we have had and to please just give me a new Colorado ) He got in touch with New DM and explained he couldn't fix it, it's a lemon. Definitely should do a buyback. Well guess what DENIED!! IM FLOORED... unfixable truck is mine. Almost traded for another New Silverado but couldn't do it. Lemon law would take to long and they would get me for mileage( which is not cheap ) and I have to drive it. 8/17 traded for a beautiful black 2017 v6 twin turbo crew cab loaded f150. Couldn't be happier. Really impressed with motor, better tow, better mileage, seats more comfortable, all around better. Unfortunately For GM ( not that it matters to them ) I will never buy a GM product again and I will steer anyone who asks away from them. BTW... I personally know several 15-17 Silverado owners who's trucks vibrate, most common said things from them is... Dont have time to bring it in. Don't wanna go through bs. Take the wife's car for long drives. Brought it in got new tires still vibrates. Gonna trade for Ram/Ford. So the number of REPORTED vibration issues means nothing.. lots of people don't have time, don't wanna deal with bs, traded or just don't care. In the past year and a half I've asked approximately 50 15-17 Silverado owners if theirs vibrated. HALF said yes and all at highway speeds. Personally I think they all vibrate on different levels. On the low end response well it's a truck, that's how it rides. It's expected. And don't forget service guys going with you for test ride saying, that's the tires their aggressive your gonna get that. Unfortunately I've heard it all. My Silverado crew rode like a Cadillac until 4K miles. Take no excuses!!!! Thanks for reading and good luck to all. -
I have a 2004 Tahoe that has recently begun a weird vibrate when I am slowing to a stop. When the truck drops back down to first gear right before a stop, the breaks make the sound that most breaks make when you hit a slippery ice patch on the road. Kind of like the anti-skid sound and I have to depress the breaks more for them to stop. Any ideas?
