I have a 2015 Silverado, when turning at low speeds I have a Squealing/whining noise in the front end. Only while moving. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Hey fellas, I've been noticing a whining noise coming out of the front-left side of my truck over the last few days. It's been colder lately, around -6°C or so. It sounds identical to a power steering pump that's low on fluid or on it's way out. However, the truck has electronic power steering and does not use fluid. Has anyone here noticed a whining type of sound that increases with engine RPM and figured out what's going on? It somewhat comes and goes, but generally is very noticeable all the time. Would rather figure it out before whatever is causing the sound inevitably gives out or falls apart. Thanks,

Hey all! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday morning. I’m reaching out to y’all because i purchased my 2014 Silverado 5.3 used, with 76k highway miles. From purchase, it had a decently loud engine, which after reading some posts about direct injection and the oil delivery of these engines, thought it was normal. But after comparing engine sounds to other 2014-2016 5.3 engines, I’ve come to the realization that my engine is obviously not operating the way it should be. My transmission acts up a bit, but that’s GM transmissions... I’ll have it checked out when I take it for a warranty service. Anyways, I wanted to hear what you guys think on this topic. I can’t seem to figure out what the whining is from, and why it’s incredibly quieter on other trucks. Maybe my (part that produced the whine) needs to be replaced? I don’t know what it is. My starter grinds sometimes and it’s a nasty sound, but I heard starters aren’t covered under warranty. Then, I noticed, if I get on the pedal and let off, there’s a chirp...I have no freakin clue what that is, so any insight on that helps. Next up is my lifters. I have to definitely get new lifters, and I heard that the lifters go bad after many miles thanks to the B.S. AFM. Once I get the full service I’ll be tuning out the AFM. Then, finally, is my driveline. I get almost like a “clunk” somewhere along the driveline towards the end when I’m coming to a stop, and going... I think it might be my UJoint. Thank you guys for any input you leave, it’s greatly appreciated.

So I just had an aftermarket Pioneer Stereo installed, and everything looks and sounds great, except theres a constant static in the background when the stereo is on. It does not fluctuate with engine speed, but it does increase in volume as you turn up the volume on the stereo. I've been looking on google and think it could possibly be that it isn't grounded well, where is it the stereo grounded at so that I could check the connection? OR, could it be something else altogether?

Hello everyone! I think this is a pretty long standing question of mine. My family has owned several GMC Suburbans from the 1996-1999 model year range, and all but one has had this issue. I can only describe it as sort of a high pitched whine that is extremely audible when idling. Every Suburban I've seen on the road makes this noise. My current '96 Suburban just started making this noise recently, so I want to figure out what's causing it. It has a 454 in it that was put in around 2005. Any ideas are very much appreciated! Thanks.

I have a 2010 Silverado with 4.3 liter engine. Back in September truck was making whining noise in first gear. Dealer replaced a couple carriers and Sprague gear in transmission under warranty. Now whining noise is back in first gear and 5 year power train warranty expired last month. Some gimmick. Anyone else had similar problem? How do you fix this? Not a lot of confidence in dealer since same issue came back so soon. Any advice?

My 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD has been fitted with new Power Steering Pump, remanufactured /new power steering gear box, new remanufactured hydroboost and new hoses. The New GM pump is quiet for a few hundred miles then begins to whine and then gets to whinning all the time. The steering works just great and the brakes work great. it does not whine with pressure on the brake or when turning the wheel. I have been through 4 pumps now in a year to try and get it to quieten up. The pump never made a noise when the truck was new until i had a mechanic screw with the gear box and i had to replace it. Could it be a restriction in the fluid cooler? Does anyone have any experience with this maddening problem?

So my silverado is making the exact same noise as the one in this post but my truck is a few years newer, do you guys think its the same problem and i need to replace the power steering pump? http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/37081-whining-noise-front-of-engine/ If so my truck is not under warranty, how much is that going to cost me?
