Hello all, First let say thank you for anyone who can possibly help. I'm pretty frustrated as of right now, trying to run this down. 2014 Sierra 1500 5.3L All Terrain 125,000 miles Noticed a whistle/whine coming from the engine bay, but only when under load (won't do it in park), and accelating (stops as soon as I let off the throttle). I first noticed it when I was towing, but now does it everyday. It seemed to go away after the engine got warm. However, it seems to now be staying regardless of temp. So far I've: Changed all 3 belts, replaced the alternator, used a mechanics stethoscope with no luck. So my questions beyond what do you all think. 1. Could this be coming from the PCV tube being worn? 2. Where else should I look for a vaccume leak? 3. Literally anything else you may feel as pertinent, please let me know. Thanks Again, CG -
Im hearing a whistling noise coming from right above the driver seat when at freeway speeds. Is anyone else having this problem? -
Hey guys, yesterday I had just gotten a 54 inch curved led lightbar installed with a simple toggle switch. After the install on the trip back home on the interstate, I was greeted with a very loud and annoying whistle/humm from the drivers side speakers. It wasn't like this before the lightbar install. And it creeps in about 45mph and gets drastically worse at higher speeds. It is not wind noise, it comes with static from the drivers side speakers. Any tips/dui help would be much appreciated as I do not feel like making the 50 minute drive back up town to fix maybe a simple issue. Any help would be appreciated. -
Hello all. I've noticed this whistling sound at idle on my truck. I am unsure how long it has been making it. In the video, I start it up, give it a couple very light Revs to see if there is any difference in sound. Then, I cycle to R, N, D, N, R, P. The audio turned out OK, you can hear the whistling sound the best at 25seconds and thru the end.. I don't know if it makes the sound as I am driving down the road. EDIT: You can't really hear the sound when looking at the engine bay. It is most audible when under the truck. Any thoughts on this? I am probably going to swing by the dealer after work tomorrow and have them take a listen. I appreciate your responses. Thanks!!
