The day is almost here. In just a couple weeks, you’ll be able to reserve a Chevy Silverado. If recent vehicle releases are any indication, you’d better act fast, because they’re likely to go quickly once the gates open.

Silverado EV reservations open on January 5 at participating dealers. That same day, Chevy will reveal the truck live at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The automaker sent a save the date email to customers late yesterday with an offer to add the event to the calendar.

GM’s EV ambitions are growing, as are the number of electric models it’s releasing. GMC Hummer EV deliveries began today, which is of one of this year’s most anticipated vehicles. While it has seen multiple setbacks and delays related to the pandemic and microchip shortages, GM managed to get the Hummer out the door relatively on time.

The new EVs are hitting the streets at an exciting time. Rivian recently started delivering its R1T electric pickup and Ford aims to push the electric F-150 Lightning out in the near future. The level of competition has gone from 0 to 100 in the span of just a few months and will only get tougher from here on out.
