The GMC Hummer EV is impressive, no matter how you slice it. Its specs, price, styling, and tech all defy belief and challenge what we expect from a vehicle. To celebrate the Hummer’s development process and launch, General Motors filmed a documentary about the EV, and it’s showing on cable this month.

The Hummer EV progressed through the development process in around two years. The documentary will show the rigorous testing process the EV had to endure prior to release, including freezing weather in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and desert temperatures in Moab.

The 9,000-pound electric SUV has already begun reaching customers’ driveways, and GM is moving quickly toward the release of other new EVs. The Cadillac Lyriq and Chevy Silverado EV will both be out soon.

If you’re hoping to catch the documentary, tune into the History Channel on Sunday, March 27 at 11 am EST. It’s worth noting that, since General Motors funded the film, it’s unlikely to dive too deep into challenges or issues with EV development, such as supply chain problems and a massive Chevrolet Bolt battery recall.
