GMC is ramping up testing of the HUMMER EV and it’s also benchmarking it alongside a surprising, yet exciting choice of truck.
This last week the GMC HUMMER EV was caught testing in near MOAB. Photos of the testing convoy started popping up on social media and in videos. One short video caught our eye, not because of the long line of electric trucks being tested – no, it’s because of the gas-powered truck GM engineers had alongside. A Chevrolet Colorado ZR2.
Why is this so exciting? Because the Colorado ZR2 is a serious off-roading machine. If the GMC HUMMER EV is being tested alongside the ZR2, that means the HUMMER EV has some serious chops.
We can’t wait to see more about the HUMMER EV and what sort of testing regimen it underwent during development. Even the fact that GMC is testing the HUMMER EV in Moab, is pretty amazing. The area’s off-road trails are among the hardest in the world.
