GM has updated a previously released technical document that covers vehicles with RPO code KI4 – 100 volt power outlets.
Some owners may experience that the 110 volt outlets in their SUV no longer work and cannot be reset after using electrical devices that overload the system. The green indicator on the dash switch will flash green.
Code B1A78 will be set in the vehicle diagnostics.
Overloaded 110 Volt Outlets That Won’t Reset – How To Fix
A software bug in the body control module will not allow the outlets to reset after being overloaded. It will be necessary to take your vehicle to a dealership to get the BCM reflashed with new software under warranty.
The dealership will not have to replace the BCM or inverter.
