General Motors is rolling out some massive updates for its luxury EV lineup in 2027. We just got our hands on the order guide changes for both the 2027 Cadillac Optiq and the 2027 Cadillac Vistiq, and there is a lot to unpack.

Beyond the usual shuffling of paint colors and interior trims, these updates confirm two major milestones for Cadillac: the transition to native NACS charge ports has officially begun, and a high-performance Optiq V-Series is right around the corner.

Here is the complete breakdown of what to expect for the 2027 model year.

2027 Cadillac Vistiq: NACS Arrives and Styling Tweaks

The biggest news for the three-row Vistiq is what is happening at the charge port. The 2027 order guide explicitly lists new LPO adapters that are “Intended for NACS native inlet vehicles.”

Furthermore, the old NACS adapters for CCS vehicles have been deleted. This confirms the 2027 Vistiq will ditch the legacy CCS port and roll off the assembly line with a Tesla-style NACS charge port built right in.

Because of this hardware change, Cadillac is introducing three new charging LPO packages so owners can still use legacy CCS or J1772 equipment, as well as GM’s bi-directional home chargers:

  • (PEC) Charging Essentials Package: Includes J1772 AC Adapter, CCS1 DC Adapter, and GM PowerUp 2 (NACS) Charger.

  • (PEB) Level 2 and Fast Charging Adapter Package: Includes J1772 AC Adapter and CCS1 DC Adapter.

  • (PED) Premium Charging Package: Includes J1772 AC Adapter, CCS1 DC Adapter, GM Energy PowerShift Charger (for V2H), and PowerShift Charging Adapter.

Vistiq Styling & Feature Changes

Cadillac is also cleaning up the exterior design of the Vistiq for 2027, dropping some of the busier elements:

  • Cleaner Glass: The Mondrian graphic on the rear quarter glass has been removed.

  • Grille & Badging: The front grille header changes from Vader Chrome to Gloss Black. On the back, Cadillac is dropping the “900” torque badge, leaving only the “E4” badge on the right side of the liftgate.

  • Feature Deletions: Notably, the 2027 model drops the (AF7) Soft-close front and rear doors and (ATH) Remote Keyless Entry.

  • New Tech: (BOY) Cadillac Digital Key is being added, though it will require a future over-the-air software update to activate.

Vistiq Color Updates

  • Added: Cashmere, Adobe Frost (Platinum only), Slate Tricoat, and a new Black interior with white stitching (Premium Luxury only).

  • Deleted: Phantom Blue interior, Nimbus Metallic, and Celestial Metallic paints.

2027 Cadillac Optiq: Enter the V-Series

The big headline for Cadillac’s entry-level EV is the confirmation of a high-performance variant. The order guide explicitly lists features specifically for an “OPTIQ-V”.

While powertrain details for the Optiq V-Series are still under wraps, the guide confirms a special (PDI) Magnus Launch Edition that will be available exclusively on the V-Series. Buyers of the V-Series will also get exclusive access to a new (GNW) Midnight Stone Frost exterior color, though Cadillac notes it will have “late and extremely limited availability.”

Optiq RPO & Color Shuffles

For the rest of the Optiq lineup, Cadillac is doing a massive overhaul of its RPO codes, simplifying its naming conventions, and updating the battery pack.

  • Goodbye “Noir”: Cadillac is dropping the fancy French naming. The “Noir” interior color is officially being renamed to simply “Black” across multiple RPO codes (H7D, H9F, EKH).

  • Battery Update: The RPO code for the Optiq’s Battery Pack is changing from (EC3) to (ER3). While we don’t know the exact chemistry or capacity changes yet, a new RPO code almost always indicates a physical hardware or supplier update.

  • Colors Added: Sandstone (Luxury/Premium Luxury only) and Citron Tricoat.

  • Colors Deleted: Magnus Metal Frost, Celestial Metallic, and Nimbus Metallic.
