The 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 represents the most dramatic, ground-up redesign the half-ton truck has seen in nearly a decade. This gallery rounds up every official photo released so far, giving you a detailed look at the new style-forward Elevation, the flagship Denali Ultimate, and the off-road-dominating AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition.
GMC has not yet dropped imagery for the entry-level Pro, the standard AT4, or the standard Denali, so you will not see those trims pictured below.
Before going trim by trim, here’s the broader Sierra 1500 range gathered together in the same shot.
The 2027 Sierra 1500 range gathered together in one shot, a good look at just how far this generation stretches, from work focused trims to fully loaded luxury models.
Elevation
The Elevation trim is the new high volume retail core of the Sierra 1500 lineup, replacing the old SLE and SLT packages outright.
The Elevation trim is the new high volume retail core of the Sierra 1500 lineup, replacing the old SLE and SLT packages outright. Its clean, blacked out styling makes it the pick for buyers who want a nicer truck without stepping all the way up to Denali money.
Denali Ultimate
The Denali Ultimate is the flagship, the most luxurious and tech loaded Sierra 1500 GMC has ever built.
The Denali Ultimate’s front end stands more vertical than before, feeding higher volume airflow to new cooling packages. GMC also physically lowered the headlamp assemblies in the front fascia, keeping light beams below the windshield line of oncoming traffic at intersections.Don’t mistake the luxury focus for a truck that can’t work. Every 2027 Sierra 1500 engine, from the carryover TurboMax four cylinder to the 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel, backs up to a 10-speed automatic and was validated for real world towing and hauling.Step inside the Denali Ultimate and the cabin throws more than 60 inches of combined digital display space at you, framed by genuine open pore engineered birch wood accents. The 16.3 inch center display is the largest in its class, and it motorizes upward on command to reveal a hidden storage vault.Dedicated Bose speaker drivers sit right inside the front seat headrests, part of a 16 speaker Bose Series audio system, each one protected by a stainless steel grille.Higher trims come standard with a 3 year Super Cruise subscription, good for hands free driving across roughly 600,000 miles of mapped highway, even while towing a trailer. The green light bar on the steering wheel is the cue that the system is active.
AT4X
The AT4X is GMC’s answer for owners who want to drive fast over rough terrain, not just look like they do.
The AT4X rides on a factory 2 inch suspension lift and rolls on 35 inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires standard, a size bump over the outgoing generation. Front and rear electronic locking differentials come standard too.GMC didn’t just lift the AT4X and call it done. Off road test mules spent serious time in Moab and Johnson Valley, with one specific vehicle racking up more than 35,000 miles of strictly severe off road trail testing.Inside, the AT4X gets its own exclusive Timber Mahogany colorway, a panoramic sunroof, and bookmatched carbon fiber trim pieces, a cabin that looks just as at home at a trailhead as it does in a parking lot.The AT4X’s seats carry the same cloud perforated quilting and integrated headrest speakers found in the Denali Ultimate, just wrapped in AT4X specific materials and badging.Underneath, the AT4X pairs its signature blue Multimatic DSSV dampers with new heavy duty yellow Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers, valved specifically to absorb high speed impacts on the trail without ruining the ride on pavement.
AT4X AEV Edition
The AEV Edition pushes the AT4X’s off road hardware even further for owners who actually plan to wheel their truck.
The AT4X AEV Edition returns for 2027 with stamped steel bumpers and full boron steel underbody protection, built for the kind of severe rock crawling that would leave a standard skid plate in pieces.
