  1. We have the factory mud flaps that we installed on our 2500 and the Raptor stainless ovals allow sufficient fore and aft movement / adjustment to clear them ...
  2. Get the Raptor stainless ovals ... many folks have posted excellent results and confidence in them on this forum ...
  3. Exactly the point that I have been trying to make ... go with SS when possible...
  4. Nice; you will like the Raptors!
  5. Interesting design; I like them! What is the material and how is it finished?
  6. Almost a year on our stainless Raptors and they still look like showroom displays! You will enjoy yours; good choice.
  7. Your concerns are exactly why we went with stainless steel ...and, they still look like new!
  8. Excellent ...and the cap will really double your truck's utility ...congrats.
  9. Waiting on the edges of our seats ...
  10. Good choice! And to think that I have been enjoying my Raptors for months ...while other folks keep getting the run around ...
  11. See my earlier post where I suggested to look at the used car lots for the condition of bars after use ... they all look good on a shiny new truck parked on asphalt. Chrome and/or paint deteriorates very quickly around here with the chemical de-icers and gravel spread out over the winter; stainless is the best (and in my opinion - the only) alternative. That does not even factor in the icing on the whole underbody which can last for months if you do not have access to a heated garage.
  12. The Raptor install kit works great ... very solid passenger side step ...on my 2015 Duramax.
  13. We feel the same - that they are the best 100% STAINLESS (actual) step out there (the mounts, however, are not stainless any more) ... the others that we looked at were partial stainless and had plastic end caps. De-icer used for ~6 months of the year around here corrode badly any of the chrome plated steps and yellow where the other finishes get chipped. The oval stainless Raptors are perfect for the weather / off roading around here ...where our older trucks with the flat boards would just fill up with ice and mud! These steps have just enough clearance to allow most debris to fall / roll off between the body and the step (caveat: not such a good idea, however, for an unattended child's small foot). They mount inside of the tangent line between the front and rear tires ... up high enough to not compromise getting high centered on them (well above other "hangy downies" under the truck) I no longer worry about jamming up the pivot points / electrics when we have extended periods of below zero weather or take the truck where the Z71 was designed to travel. Almost all of the steps available look good on a shiny new truck parked on asphalt ... look at the trucks on the used car lots and see how the various steps look down the road.... especially after they have "wintered" a few years or seen some off road use. YMMV
  14. Still VERY happy with the stainless Raptor oval 6" ...especially the welded on end caps ...nicely polished! Around here at least, the completely flat running boards just fill with road debris... especially in the winter.
  15. Nothing up close and the truck is parked in the garage for the winter with a car snuggled up right next to it. (That plus I am so new here that I haven't figured out how to upload a photo to a posting on this site - apparently not as easy as some). The on-line photos are accurate, however.
  16. The Raptor stainless finish is flawless...especially the "blended" end caps - they are not plastic or insert caps like some... truly a seamless look with no visible welds!. They are imported (what isn't any more) and the bars use a variety of different mounts to fit various trucks. If you want the look of chrome with the durability of stainless, then these are for you... very impressed with mine. I ordered 5" oval Magnum Raptors from Running Board Warehouse / Auto Customs with FedEx delivery in days - not weeks. We are happy with the deal and the look ... at roughly half the price of the factory steps - which were not available in stainless. They use body bolt mounting brackets and the middle bracket also has an additional U-bolt attachment brace to the rocker panel / lower rail for a nice solid feel. I doubt that I'll need the lifetime warranty, but it is there.
  17. My Raptor stainless mounted to the body bolts with additional intermediate supports in the middle attached to the rocker panel with "U" bolts.
  18. We like the Raptor in stainless ... no peeling chrome or need to ever paint over chips ...
  19. We tested two different LTZs ... the first with sunroof, the second similarly equipped, but with the cab mounted clearance lights. Both were 2015s. We took the clearance light equipped out on the interstate and turned off the radio and heater fan to listen to the sound quality of the ride as there had been a background noise of whistling air ....it was as if a widow was down or a door not shut / sealed. When we returned to the dealership and told them of the noise, they were at a loss to explain the noise ...other than the possibility of the marker lights causing the turbulence. The general manager is also a pilot and tuned in to vibrations or extraneous / new noises while underway; he understood my concern. We bought the truck and have experienced the noise intermittently. This may not be the same whistle as you are describing, but ... (GM- please send me a bonus reward - power folding mirrors, etc) ... we discovered the source of the whistle last weekend. The ventilated seats cause the whistle right next to your ear ... but make the whistle sound like it is coming from the roof or rear of the cabin !!! YMMV
