No.
MVI said they have never saw this before. The grid lines and the way they display is all in the HMI, has zero to do with the camera. The only suggestion they could offer is trying a different HMI. Some back and forth shipping would be involved swapping it out. I asked about estimated costs and downtime to dig into this further and didn't hear anything back.
I ordered a kit from MVI, they had everything I needed all from one place. Works just like factory for the most part. Still sorting out an issue with the grid lines, currently I just turned them off.
Yeah, if I cant find the dealer instructions I'll have to go the programmer route. Trying to find a harness kit that uses the factory weather pack plug at the rear instead of something proprietary. The tailgate is frequently removed and this would need to be unplugged.
Looking to get my dad a factory backup camera for Fathers Day. He has a 2014 Silverado with the IO4 radio and it's not prewired. Tying again to find the instructions for the dealer to enable and program a factory backup camera. I came across the tech article before on here but the search is failing me. Local dealer isn't the best at doing abnormal things but hopefully they could follow GM's instructions. I know WAMS does the programming. Would prefer to have the option added to GM's database for the truck in case future service work removed the programming/option. Then he wouldn't have to troubleshoot why it's not working only to realize you need to plug the programmer back into the OBD port, assuming it wasn't misplaced.
