  1. What you are is not valve noise. Valve lash clearance does not get loose then tight again. What you are hearing is detonation from preignition. Higher octane fuel should cure this unless you have some kind of ignition timing issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. Around here we all hate a wide tire in snow. I run narrow tires in winter and watch the guys with wide tires struggle. They will learn no matter snow depth poor traction with wide tires. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Went from 2000 Silverado 5.3 to Colorado v6. Loved driving the Silverado but was getting old and wanted better mileage. I get 23 with Colorado and ride and power are great. Have a low speed drivability issue with transmission and engine not on same page. I think they all do it. Bothers me but not others. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. More octane does not give more power. It is simply the anti nock rating. Once the octane level is high enough to prevent engine detonation or nock any more octane is useless. Similar to pouring 10ozs into a an 8oz cup. The extra 2oz were wasted. But it is possible that too low of an octane could reduce power. This would be because the knock sensor would detect knock and retard timing to prevent knock. Thus a loss in power, mileage etc. Once you have enough octane to prevent knock any additional does nothing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
