No clunk. Truck is back at the dealer. The tech is ""CONFIDENT"' its just the pressure sensor needing to be reprogrammed again. I doubt it, but we will see.

Prior to the first failure, it was good at all speeds. After the new gear box was installed it acts similar to yours. Yesterday I was driving on the highway, and there was a curve, I had to give it quite a bit of pressure to stay in the turn, and it abruptly got loose and almost sent me into the wall before I corrected for the change in firmness.

So as mentioned I received my truck back yesterday and I can't tell if its worse now or before I took it in. I just did a 100 mile drive on the highway and its the strangest thing. It goes from LOOSE 4-5 inches of play to HARD almost DIFFICULT to turn and then back to LOOSE.

I got #84224694 installed in my truck finally after waiting since Dec 1st. Got the truck back today... Steering is looser than stock, and the truck pulls terribly to the right. They have it again and are working on it again. see attachment.

I wish I could at least get a new 2016 steering box. Coming up to a month with no truck.

Will do! Will be a couple weeks. The dealer said the new 'redesigned' part is at a production stall after they got the district manager involved to find out more information. It is their understanding it has not been released to anyone yet. They have the 'old' parts in stock but they said they are not allowed to install them as there is a new designed part. The problem with my truck is, that after they did all the TSB's it still has loose steering and it is binding on on complete left turns. The dealer mentioned they had other trucks in with the same steering issues, but mine was the worst they have worked on.

My truck has been at the dealer since Dec 1st. The dealer performed all 5 TSB's and determined that the steering box needed to be replaced. They keep giving me new ETA's for repair. Today I was told the new ETA for the part to arrive is 1/6/2017, and that it might even take longer they said because the part is on national back order and not being produced. Have any of you had the NEWLY designed steering box/gear installed? I am told its a new part. I have been a GM owner since I had my license, but after spending $65k on a truck thats been in the shop for a leaking 9th injector for the DPF causing a reduced power mode issue, the front brake pads and rotors destroying themself by 4k miles, an oil leak so bad it killed a qt of fluid a week and now this steering issue on a truck that doesn't even have 10000 miles on it... it sure has left a sour taste in my mouth and I likely will be getting rid of it as soon as I get it back because I hate to think what will break next.
