  1. I traded my 2016 2500 with 900 miles on it because the steering was so sloppy and wandered so bad that I refused to drive it. Dealer couldn't fix it. I have a 2016 dmax now <3
  2. Man, I just came from a 14 1500 Silverado to a 2016 2500HD Duramax. There's 2 or 3 years free scheduled maintenance (even with diesel), the diesel is a beast if you need to, but a true pleasure to drive as daily driver. There's absolutely no way I'd go back to a gasser half ton after having a duramax.
  3. Correct - avalonandI- this is what I keep telling the dealerships. Hopefully tomorrow will fix all.
  4. The dmax was the best I'd driven as well - right up until it started leaking terribly and the dealer worked on it. The gas 2500 was seriously no bueno. Its amazing though- I sent GM service here a message with my VIN and posted my issue here and a few other forums- it's a miracle- the part showed up! Yay! Dropping my baby off at 7 am and they said they will have her done by the afternoon. We are leaving to go camping Thursday AM so must have it back or a loaner dmax. Lol. I will keep you all posted.
  5. PS - My husband and I had to teach the service and sales staff at both dealers what the digital assist steering was in the 2016 so I am not too hopeful anyone there knows how to work on the steering.
  6. I would ask to have a software update check done. Trust me I am on my 2nd new 2016 trucks in 2 months - both had to be updated to work. After it started working=awesome!
  7. I bought a 2016 2500HD Gas truck after having a 2014 1500, loved the 1500 by the way!. The steering was so sloppy on the 2500HD gas truck and wandered so bad that I refused to drive it after week 3. COURTESY CHEVROLET is a terrible dealer for anything post-game FYI. Dealer had the truck 4x in 3 weeks. Their genius fix after 4 times plus 2 other non service visits and hours of conversations in email, phone and texts - too much air in the tires. Wow! It was never right and I just couldn't stand to pay for something I didn't feel safe driving. Traded it back in - ate some big bucks, and got a 2016 2500HD duramax cc LTZ, my dream truck. ZERO steering issues, wheel was tight and felt as good as my 2014 half ton. Until the 2nd week I had it and the power steering box started leaking terribly- as in puddle on the driveway. Took it to different dealer -Thorobred Chevrolet- as the 1st on was horrible- and they had it for a few days. Thy put me in a compact car loaner and said they couldn't get the part, GM had zero in Stock nationally, and they guessed it was being manufacturered but no ETA. They sealed the leak and gave me the truck back until the part come back in. So I leave the dealer, guess what? The steering is sloppy. About 2-3 inches I can move the wheel left or right before it is responsive. It wanders and constantly has to be corrected. I move the wheel from 12 to 3 o'clock- the angle indicated on the DIC shows 1degree. Everyone says "it's impossible" because it's a mechanical system. Until they drive it and they go "oh my I see what you are saying". Meanwhile I have a 60,000 truck that I worry about driving to work or towing to go camping this weekend while I wait for a power steering box from GM that has no ETA. VERY frustrating.

The dealer Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix Arizona was a nightmare - never buy anything new or used from them. Or go for service - but that's another story for another thread. VERY frustrating. I will add that this truck is spectacular otherwise- I hope they get this issue resolved for me.

  10. OK trying the pic again. Almost a month into having this new truck and EVERY DAY I find something new that I love about it. The ONLY and I do mean ONLY thing I would like, that I am sure is available on the crew cab but not the double, is the rear seatback to fold forward. The bottom folds up easily but sometime it is preferred to have a flat surface. And We travel as a family with 2 adults and 2 teenagers, a fold down "console" between the rear seats in the middle would be nice. I still go out front and just stare at it, Chevy nailed it outta the park here!
  11. Greetings from cold Arizona! We just got a 2014 Silverado LT Double Cab All Star Edition and LOVE IT! Traded in our 99 2500 7.4L 4x4 Burb LT and man what a BIG difference! We LOVE everything about the new Silverado! It is my daily driver and everyday for the last 3 weeks since we brought her home I discover something new and awesome about it! We also have a 2012 Chevy Sonic and it has been an awesome car for the 13 months we have had it! We are BowTie for life and look forward to learning about our new truck and other info here! Thanks! Queenglamis PS--I will post a pic once I figure out how lol
