  1. Did not throw a code that I'm aware of. Dealer didn't mention any when they checked. Sound was a knock, or "clacking" sound for lack of a better description. It was not the faint "ticking" that the fuel injectors make.
  2. Thanks. Sounds like it should be good to go when they finish with it. The Dealer has been great. Love the truck, looking forward to getting it back.
  3. Hi folks. Did a lot of searching and reading older posts on similar topic, but I need some advice so I registered and am posting. Pretty weird, as I have not found much of this issue happening to this model year. So my 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500, 5.3 with 26k miles developed a ticking sound, it was not the fuel injectors. I took it into the dealer right away. They listened, test drove, agreed it was a problem and said not to drive it. It's been there a week. So far, they've removed the motor, tore it down (top) and found a cam lobe wiped out. Currently, they told me they are going to replace the cam, and some lifters, and that's the fix. I hope to get some more info soon, as to why it happened, (other issues?) where all that metal went, and did it damage anything else. So my question is, does this sound like the proper fix? I'm concerned about longevity of the motor. Thanks
