  1. Couple days ago after I parked my truck at the cabin home over the weekend and while driving home I noticed a little stench in the truck so I bought an air freshner and put on the front vents but only to find out that the passenger/middle vents werent blowing air except the driver side. Also realized the stench is coming out of the nonworking vents. Question now is how to remove the vents and inspect inside of it, or has anyone had this happened to them? I am thinking it could be mouse that got into the air vents. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!!
  2. Is it normal for the truck to shut off engine after 10-15 minutes whenever you use the auto start remote? Or is the truck suppose to stay on as if you had the key in the ignition? Mine would allow maybe 1 or 2 times of remote auto start, after the 10-15 minutes it shuts off, then if I still want to remote start again, it wouldn't. TIA!!!
  3. I have a similar issue...and my question is still unanswered. I would have to look at it one of these warmer days. Hope we can find a solution to the problem soon!!
  4. I'd take it as no one has this issue before?
  5. 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500, High Country 6.2 Last time my friend used a tractor to load something onto my truck bed and the bucket got caught on my tail gate cable and broke it which caused the tailgate to hung on just one side cable and the rear camra wire. It must have pulled the camra wire loose or disconnect from the housing inside the truck bed? How do I go about fixing this issue. When put on reverse, the screen says "rear camra service" Thanks in advance!
  6. Has anyone ever get their truck ac condenser replace or job done at chevy dealer because GM don't cover it? Just wondering how much it will cost if mine isn't covered. I called and talked to an advisor at chevy dealer and he said mine isn't on the recall list for the failed condenser but they will look at it, perform leak tests for $175...but will send it to GM if they will help with anything. If not, the dealer will write up a quote of the total cost for me. Yikes!! I feel that the Silverados should be on the recall list since other tahoes or suburbans are covered for failed condenser?!!
  7. yes, just watched a youtube video of guy talking and showing how gm listed only tahoes, cads, and suburban for the ac condenser recall/tsb, but not silverados or sieras. Lame.
  8. thing is I just recharged with an 18 oz in july, which isn't much since the actual amount is 29 oz. But now it is out, only warm air.
  9. well when I use the gauge/trigger hose to can for recharge, the needle moved all the way to right at the RED indication..is that Full pressure? Or do I use a different tool for pressure reading? Thanks though.
  10. the chasis is at 125k mi but the new motor/block is only 40+K miles.
  11. could be. guessing next thing is replace the condenser?
  12. LOL, yes I did. the blue ones from walmart. I will get a better one and do it again. Thanks.
  13. 2015 Silverado High Country 1500 6.2 Problem 1: Last month my ace was just blowing warm air, not cold. Had my broinlaw helped recharged it with a 18 oz can. Gauge was showing LOW. After refilled, cold air came back normally. Problem 2: Just today, the AC is blowing warm air again, I did look at the compressor and it is spinning with engine and ac on, which means theres still freons in the system. I also bought new can to recharge just to see if the gauge reads LOW, but when I pressed the trigger... it was showing RED (indicating something other than low or filled). I checked the AC radiator and like some youtubers said, there was a little spot on the side showing possibly leakage. But I don't understand why the gauge would still show that there is still pressure? Question is why isnt' it blowing cold air while it is still freon in the system? Or could it be other major issues? Thanks in advance!!
  14. I apologized it took a while for me to respond back fellas. I did find a smaller size slide in camper rated at 1380 lbs, however considering the real facts that we won't be camping and boating at least 50% of the time, I I have decided to just haul a 29fter trailer rv which has a 5654 lb dry weight. I'd like to say thanks for sharing all your suggestions/advises, stories or experiences pertaining to truck campers and such. On a second note, I actually did plan to upgrade to a 2500 hd, but then again, the truck camper only provided such a cramped space for a growing family of five. I guess the traveling trailer will be our first experience for now. Thanks again!!
  15. Well, the reason why I was considering a truck camper is because I also wanted to tow the boat to camp at the same time too. Kinda want to have two worlds altogether.
  16. Sorry if this isn't the correct spot for questions regarding towing and payload capacity. I have a 2015 silverado high country with 8 speed, 5.8ft bed. I want to put a truck camper on it soon and the camper Im looking at is at 1860 lbs dry weight. I see some info online stating the truck is at 1828 lb payload capacity. Would I be ok if I use airbags on the springs and torklift tiedowns? I am new to truck camper and towing world. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.
